Thank you for your question regarding if you are a candidate for a mommy makeover and for including photos.Although you did include photos, in my experience, to determine if a person is a good candidate for surgery or not I will review a medical history questionnaire with each of my patients to determine the safety of proceeding with surgery.I recommend that you have an in person consultation with two or more experienced board-certified plastic surgeons in your area.
Hello. Typically a mommy makeover includes breast and abdominal surgery. The photos you supplied are only focusing on your abdomen. I can only conclude from these photos that you would be a great candidate for abdominoplasty and lipo suction. Best of Luck!Dr. Julia Spears MD
Thank you for your question Rubyt98. I think your a great candidate for a tummy tuck procedure. From the pictures you have posted I would recommend a low carb diet and exercise to see if you can lose a bit more weight because of the intra abdominal fat that you have. Intra abdominal fat is fat deep down under the abdominal wall muscle that gives the belly a curvature. The only way to lose that would be a low carb diet and exercise. Your Surgeon will be able to tighten up the abdominal wall muscle which will help push down the intra abdominal fat, remove the extra skin and lipo the flank area to help start the contouring portion of the procedure. A tummy tuck will get you the flattest belly one can get. Most patients will need some additional liposuction after a tummy tuck to help bring the flank area in a bit more. I would suggest making an in person consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in person to evaluate you, discuss options and answer any questions. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for your question. There is a Body Mass Index (BMI) requirement that patients must meet for the mommy makeover surgery. At my practice, the mommy makeover max BMI is 33. This is based on your height and weight. Based on the height and weight you provided, you are at 41 and do not meet our BMI requirement, which means you do not qualify for surgery at this time. Since you are over the BMI limit, I would recommend consulting with your primary care physician on a proper diet for you to bring down your BMI in order to be able to undergo the procedure. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take Care, Moises Salama MD, board certified plastic surgeon
Hello,Thank you for the question and photos.Based on your current Height and Weight, your BMI is around 41.Ideally, in order to undergo elective cosmetic surgery such as Mommy Makeover, your BMI should be closer to 35 in order minimize the risk of post-operative complications. It is safest to lose additional weight prior to surgery, as it will also give you a better cosmetic result and minimize the risk of wound healing complications.I hope this helps.Best regards, Dr. KaranetzDr. Irena KaranetzFellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
Being a candidate for a mommy make over can mean many different things.Weight or BMI requirements can set by many different factors ranging from anesthesia, facility capabilities, surgeon preferences and operative bed capacity. Sometimes the procedure itself may have a requirement. Your BMI is 41. For a mommy makeover, a BMI less than 30 is ideal. This helps ensure we can delivery safe, effective anesthesia with quick recovery and reduce complications.Second, before moving forward with abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) I like to be ensure you are healthy and any underlying medical problems are address and well controlled. Meeting with a surgeon in person can help ensure that your entire health picture is being addressed and you are in the best possible health for surgery. Third, before any surgery, being at your lowest expected, healthy, sustainable weight is best. This allows us to remove as much extra skin as possible and be able to give you a long-lasting outcome. If you are having difficulty with weight loss, we often talk about other options such as surgical weight loss. From a procedural standpoint, when appropriate, I would offer you an extended abdominoplasty with liposuction of the posterior trunk (back and flanks) and consider staging additional liposuction and breast surgery (if desired) following recovery. As always, make sure your plastic surgeon is board-certified.
Your weight would put at high risk for surgery. Since any cosmetic surgery is elective, it should be performed under the safest circumstances. Your BMI is 41. That is the product of your weight (in kilograms) divided by your height (in centimeters). A normal BMI is less than 30. My recommendation would be to lose weight before you are a good candidate for any cosmetic procedures, including abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and breast lift, which would constitute a mommy makeover. If you tried to lose weight but cannot and do not want to do a weight reduction surgery, such as gastric bypass or gastric sleeve, then you could be a candidate for a 2 stage operation. The first stage would be liposuction of the abdomen, and the second stage would be abdominoplasty after the fat has been debulked. Keep in mind, at your current BMI, it is still a risky surgery. It is difficult to comment on the breasts since it does not appear in the photo.
Dear Rubyt98,generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a tummy tuck, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
If you are medically healthy, then you can have elective surgery. I would suggest starting with liposuction of the abdomen and flanks front and back bra roll areas to remove some excess fat.
Hi dear I hope you are ok According to your photos you are a Good candidate for MMO, it is recommended to lose at least 35 lbs to obtain the best results possible with this procedure.
Without seeing any photos, it is possible to do both procedures. You might get better results doing liposuction of the abdomen and flanks first and then follow with a tuck 6 months later.
For you, I would suggest starting with the liposuction first, except for the flank areas, along with the breasts. You may find you are happy enough and no longer want the tuck. Then the liposuction to the flanks with the BBL can be done.
You will need to wait at least 6 months from surgery before anything surgical should be done. However, micro-needling of your scars can be helpful. It is usually best to do your surgery close to where you live for follow up visits and care and possible revisions.
