The photos you provided were blurry. It looks like you have extra fat under your skin but that your skin is firm and of good quality. If so, then Kybella might be your best choice. It takes several treatments to melt away your submental fat. You’ll have some skin tightening, too. Be sure to consult a board-certified dermatologist who can help you decide which procedure best suits your needs.
Thank you for your question. It depends on what you are looking for or what are your concerns. Is fat your main concern, or sagging skin? Kybella is great for treating submental fat, also known as a double chin. There are also options such as a Botox "Neck Lift" if you are interested in correcting lines or wrinkles on the neck.
Kybella is good for removing stubborn areas of fat. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement with non-invasive options like Kybella. I recommend Kybella with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is a great alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate and can be performed at the same time as a neck lift. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Both Kybella or neck liposuction are good options and will improve the double chin. A chin implant can improve projection. It depends on your lifestyle and personality which would be better for you. Kybella is best for patients that:1) Do not want surgery 2) Are not surgical candidates 3) Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 4) Patient- The results of Kybella will take monthsKybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Neck Liposuction is best for patients that:1) Want a single treatment 2) One recovery time- Downtime for neck liposuction require wearing a wrap around face for 1 week. 3) Less painful 4) Quicker results 5) Cost is a concernNeck liposuction is a quick surgical procedure that can be complete while the patient is awake. It cost around the same price a Kybella and can be less in patients with heavier necks. The single recovery of neck liposuction may be a better option for some patients.I hope this helps.
Kybella permanently removed the fat below the chin. It is not for the neck. From the photo it is not clear that your concern is due to fat but perhaps due to skin laxity. Once you have a consultation by a physician from different angles the correct procedure can be recommended. Kybella can be combined with a skin tightening procedure if necessary. An experienced physician will let you know if you can be helped with Kybella.
Hi elalolalea,Kybella can be used if you have submental fullness from fat. This can only be determined after a examination with a provider well-versed in the anatomy of the submental area, such as a board certified plastic surgeon. Sometimes lax (saggy) skin (without underlying fat) can cause the appearance of fullness under the chin, but this should not be treated with Kybella. If you do have some fat under the chin, and therefore would be a Kybella candidate, it is important to understand that only the area directly under the chin is treated. This will not help the lower neck skin (where you can see horizontal lines). I would recommend arranging a consultation for an assessment to help you determine which option is best for you. The recovery/side effects of your options should be reviewed so you can make an informed decision about which option is best for you.Best of luck!
Hi, thank you for your question.I see two different issues which could be addressed:One, fullness under the chin, commonly referred as double chin, andTwo, horizontal lines of the neck.Since it doesn't appear that you have too much laxity (hanging, excess skin) of the neck, you should be a good candidate for Kybella.Kybella melts fat cells in the region under the chin and pulls the skin up. It is minimally uncomfortable procedure, done in the office and has minimal downtime.May require more then one treatment depending on your responce and how big the fat pad under your chin is.The horizontal lines of the neck could be addressed with either Botox injections, Dermal threads or maybe both. Please see qualified physician in your area.
Thanks for your question. Looking at your photos, it is likely that an enlarged fat pad is not your issue, so Kybella is likely not the answer. It would appear that skin laxity and some textural change (fine lines), i.e. collagen loss, is more the culprit. Our clients call this the "turkey neck". Consider treatments like Profound RF which can be applied to Lower Face and Neck as well, for significant tightening as well as surface re-texturizing. Profound RF does also have a subcutaneous tip which can be used to destroy excess fat cells in this region, if that is needed. Whether you are a surgical candidate would require a face to face evaluation with a plastic surgeon, it cannot be determined from these types of photos.Best,Lisa Vuich, MD
Kybella is a treatment for permanently fat reduction and the best option to avoid surgery and scarring. Kybella takes a series of at least 3 sessions and from 1-2 vials per treatment depending on how much fat there is. Downtime from Kybella is swelling, bruising, hot to the touch, tenderness, numbness and it can last from 4-6 weeks, it may vary individually. After second session the downtime minimizes. Hi suelen88, Technically, this is an off-label use for Kybella which is FDA-cleared for the submental area. Some lumps and swelling are normal post Kybella but these usually resolve in about two months. That said, you might be having a granuloma, one of the body's reaction to a substance it ...
Hello Vabram13,Without before and after photos it is hard to comment on the result you have received with Kybella. Kybella takes at least 2 treatments and even up to 6 treatments to reach the end point. For appropriately chosen patients it can be quite effective. I'd recommend you continue to...
Hi there and thanks for your question. No, taking a steroid dose pack will not negatively affect your kybella treatment. You may be swollen after your kybella injections for a few weeks. Results can take a few months. Hope this helps and best of luck!
