Thank you for your pictures and questions. You have a very small amount of submental fullness and I do think you would have a decent result with only one vial of product. The good thing is that the result from this treatment is permanent, and you can always repeat it in the future if you do not reach the goal you had hoped for and your budget allows. Good luck!
In order to achieve a visual improvement a minimum of 2 vials is needed. The studies that were used to determine the amount of Kybella that is necessary were based on 2-4 vials and 4-6 treatments. I have seen some nice changes and improvement with 1 treatment of 2 vials. Good luck
I suggest a formal consult. 1 vial of kybella is 2cc of product and that is too small to get any significant I'm provident in a full neck, jawline and jowls. I suggest you see an expert as you may want a single liposuction or buccal fat pad removal procedure at the same time. Most surgeons have financing options. Best, Dr. Emer.
No, majority of patients need multiple vials spaced out over multiple sessions to see decent results. But, you can always get 1 vial and save up till you’re ready for the 2nd! Good luck!!!
Would I vial be enough for your treatment? Yes you have a small issue. After the treatment you should expect severe pain, swelling, brusing, and possible transient nerve damage. After several weeks of healing, you are not likely to be able to discern a difference in your neck contour. Many treatments at 4 to 6 weeks intervals are needed to achieve this difference. In the study that was the basis of the FDA approval, investigator were allowed to treat with up to 6 sessions of Kybella to achieve the pateint goals. Most pateints required all 6 sessions. At the end of the study, 40% of patients were dissatisfied with results. Compare this with a neck liposuction which is a single minimally invasive procedure. It can be done under local anesthesia with minimal brusing and down time. A single session is highly effective whic most patients achieving their goal. Do the math, in many cases, neck liposuction is less expensive than 4 to 6 sessions of Kybella.
Dear kowan1003,kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella. Even for minimal submental fullness, one vial of Kybella will not be enough for your first treatment and I doubt that you will be happy with the results. I always have my patients start with 2 vials for their first session. I would suggest saving your money until you can receive 2 vials and I believe you will be much happier with the outcomes.
Thank you for the question and including the photo. You certainly have a small amount of fat in the area, however, I personally have never given a single treatment with 1 vial. Generally most patients require 2 vials at a time and often need multiple treatments. 1 vial is generally insufficient to treat the whole area of concern, even for the small amount of fat you have. You may see results but I think they would be quite subtle and that at the least you'd require at least another one if not two more treatments starting with just a vial. Hope this helps!Noel Natoli, MDBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
From those pictures it is impossible to tell how much fat you have under your chin. You'll need an in-person consultation for an physician to give you an estimate of how much product you might need. That said, I will tell you one vial is usually not enough to treat anyone. Most people need at least 2 treatments, and the range is 2-4 on average with a rare instance of requiring more. And most people require 2 vials for each treatment (though occasionally with only small amounts of fat you may only need 1 each time). So, assuming you are a candidate for the treatment, your answer is very likely to be no-- 1 vial will not be enough.
Hello there! Allergan, the company that makes Kybella, recommends injections at 30 day intervals but...the fat lost with the first injection a year ago is gone. It has not recurred so you can go ahead andget the second round of injections now.
It’s a bit difficult to see the area under your chin in this photo, and I’m not sure which “lumps” you are refrring to! Fat dissolving injections are injected into the “preplatysmal fat”, also known as “submental fat” or “double-chin fat”. It’s a very specific area, and I would rec...
From your photos you have a beautiful profile and no fat in that area so no need for Kybella. I would suggest Thermage and fillers to tighten and add volume to the chin. If you choose the right product you will only have to do this once a year. Best, Dr. Green
