Thank you for your questions. If it has not been at least 6-8 week since the treatment, then it probably does look worse as it takes 2-3 months for the results to be revealed. If after that, you are not happy with the results, then perhaps you were asking too much of a minimally invasive treatment and would be best served by considering a surgical solution. Maybe consider instead of seeing a "medical doctor" who has limited tools and skills available and go see a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.Good luck!
The studies performed by the company that brought Kybella on the market were based on 2-4 vials and 4-6 treatments. I usually recommend submetal and jawline liposuction over Kybella because the results are immediate and a youthful well contoured jawline can be readily achieved with liposuction. The results are more consistent with liposuction.
You can get improvement with liposuction or neck lifting if you are unhappy with kybella. Please post photos and/or come in for a consult with an expert to evaluate what you had done and the results you have currently. Best, Dr. Emer.
Dear vabram13,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Without looking at your pictures I can’t give you advice, however if you aren’t happy with the Kybella results I would consider liposuction. It’s fairly easy, doesn’t take too long and you can get excellent results within a very short time.
Please post your photos to help you since it should definitely help you after even two treatments. You may not have been a candidate for the procedure or the technique used was wrong. Please keep us posted. Best, Dr. Green
Dear Vabram 13:Thank you for your questions. Without photographs it is impossible to be precise If it has not been at least 8 week since the last treatment, then it probably does look worse as it takes 2-3 months for the results to be revealed. If after that, you are not happy with the results, then perhaps you were asking too much of a minimally invasive procedure and would be best served by considering a surgical solution. Think words that end in "R" not "T". "Better" not "perfect" or "best". "Thinner" not "thinnest." Consider instead of seeing a "medical doctor" who has limited tools in their armamentarium ; seek instead a plastic surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Good luck and I hope this helps!
Thanks for your question and posting pictures. I agree with some of the previous physicians that we could recommend Kybella. The FDA recently approved the SculpSure laser for treating submental fat (double chins). It is a quick 25 minute treatment. In the FDA study, the participants had 100% satisfaction after 1 or 2 treatments. If you look at the Kybella FDA studies, there is high satisfaction after an average of 6 treatments. I did SculpSure recently and it was only mildly uncomfortable. I had no noticeable swelling. With Kybella, you will have noticeable swelling for 1-4 weeks. Best of luck.
Thanks for this honest - and fairly frequent - question. Kybella is a treatment to biologically destroy fat. Your body's biological response is an 'inflammatory' response, which means: swelling. If you didn't have swelling after a Kybella treatment, it means it won't work! That can be a surprise for many people, so I feel it's worth repeating: no swelling after Kybella means no results. The time your body takes to reabsorb the swelling - and the fat! - can take six or eight weeks, possibly even longer in some people, and for this reason, repeated treatments are recommended when the swelling is resolving and there's still an undesirable degree of fat.So, counter-intuitive as it may seem, the more swelling you get, the more you should look for a good response in the end.As always, consult your treatment team for the correct expectatons for your individual results.
Hello Vabram13,Without before and after photos it is hard to comment on the result you have received with Kybella. Kybella takes at least 2 treatments and even up to 6 treatments to reach the end point. For appropriately chosen patients it can be quite effective. I'd recommend you continue to follow up your surgeon to further evaluation to determine what is the best treatment going forward.I hope this helps and good luck.
