Should I be worried about small blue lump 2 days after Juvederm Smile?

Question

Had 0.5ml Juvederm Smile injected for the first time 2 days ago. No bruising at all and minimal swelling which has settled but I have been getting sharp instant pains when moving my top lip in a side-side motion. Today I've noticed a small bluish white bump surrounded by redness underneath my lip, that wasn't there yesterday. Quite hard to touch but doesn't hurt when I massage it. Only small in size. Hard to get a photo due to the area it's in. Should I be worried about this or will it go away?

Lumps and bumps are common after filler injections. They usually respond to gentle massage and subside on their own. If it still bothers you after two weeks, consult with your injector. However, if the pain worsens and/or other unusual symptoms arise, do seek immediate attention from your injector.

There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Some small  lumps and bumps can occur after injections and typically resolve after 2 weeks.  Gentle massage of the area should help.  If after two weeks you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation.

Thankyou for your question.Firstly nothing to worry about. I would attempt to massage the lump as you have 7 days to be able to do this. I do however think just looking at the photo that the filler may have just been placed a little too superficially and may need to be dissolved in just this one spot. Wait a full 2 weeks before touching base with your injector.Good luck

You have nothing to worry about, but at the same time you can try finger roll massaging that lump a few times daily for the next couple of weeks until it subsides. Otherwise, speak to your doctor. Good luck from New York City
