I want to have fraxal laser resurfacing done for enlarge pores and acne scars but will like to also have juvederm for under eye circles and laugh line done first. Will the laser resurfacing interfere with the fillers?
Answer: Fillers before Fraxel Hello and thank you for your question. You should wait two weeks after your fillers to do your Fraxel treatment. There will be some swelling and possible bruising after having fillers and you want to make sure that it is fully subsided before having Fraxel done. Keep in mind, however, If your injector places the filler superficially (intradermal as opposed to subdermal), the Fraxel can break it down. This technique is sometimes used in the laugh lines when there are fine lines or wrinkles as opposed to a deep fold. Otherwise, you should be fine to have both treatments done with ample time in between for healing. Best of luck!

Answer: Fraxel and fillers The Fraxel treatment is unlikely to reach a depth into the skin deep enough to affect the fillers. On a side note, I would recommend Restylane over Juvederm for the undereyes.

Answer: Fractional CO2 after dermal fillers.Good idea or not? Many of the dermal fillers used in the U.S. are partially dependent upon their water attracting properties to provide their effects. All the hyaluronic or HA gel fillers like the Restylanes and Juvederms work by attracting water and “expanding”. They carry the most vulnerability to heat-based treatments because the heat can diminish the water content in both the skin and the filler if the heat reaches the filler. Other fillers like Radiesse are calcium based and are injected deeper in the skin and are less likely to be affected. The depth of the filler placement and the depth of the heat generated by a laser can affect how long the filler might normally last for you. Also the type of technology will impact fillers. Deeper-reaching heat would pass through some fillers. For instance, a superficial placement of a filler would be extremely vulnerable to a laser like Fraxel and you would likely see less correction of treated wrinkles right away. So to summarize, it is always advisable to have the Fractional procedure then do the dermal fillers a few days later. If this is not an option then wait towards the end of your filler’s life cycle to have your fractional CO2.
