His practice with Dr. Lieberman, L&P Aesthetics, has 2 locations in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Palo Alto and Los Gatos. They take a team approach to perform the full range of facial aesthetic surgeries, including lip lift (and corner lip lift), their own L&P Signature Deep Plane Facelift and Neck Lift, brow lift, blepharoplasty, chin augmentation, and more.
I've been a patient of Dr. Parikh's for five years, and I cannot say how happy I am to have found such a wonderfully skilled doctor with a great bedside manner. When I scheduled my first appointment, I sought him out because L&P specializes in subtle, natural results. Dr. Parikh has always listened to my aesthetic needs and also provides an honest assessment, which is why I've continued to be his patient throughout the years. In general, L&P's practice should be a case study of what to do right! Their Palo Alto practice isn't on a busy street, which maybe you wouldn't think about until you have a PRP Treatment or procedure when you don't want to run into anyone you know (they also have designated parking spaces at their Palo Alto location)! Walking in, the practice is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The administrative team is lovely and has always been incredibly friendly and helpful. Emails and phone calls are returned promptly, and I've only waited in a room for 5-10 minutes. As a patient, mom, and busy professional, I have so much appreciation for these details. I plan on continuing to be a patient of Dr. Parikh's for a very long time. His level of care and expertise in his field, from surgery to injectables- are truly the best. Finding the perfect doctor has been a matter of trial and error, so I hope this review is helpful if you're considering Dr. Parikh!
I write this review from a different perspective. As as physician, I do have a different standard I hold my fellow physicians. I expect them to be virtually superhuman! I do expect them to have perfect bedside manners, technical skills and I expect them to be completely relatable and approachable if I see them out and about. With all that said, this was a wonderful experience. This is a long overdue review. I initially found this practice on yelp. I did a lot of research. Again, as a physician, I can tell you when looking for plastic surgeon to touch your face, that should be that physician's primary field of practice. There are a lot of really good plastic surgeons in the Bay Area, but the doctor that does general plastic surgery is not my first choice to touch my face. Initially, I have to say I was a bit put off by how long it took to get a consultation appointment. Then I realized that's a good thing! These 2 docs are so damn good that it takes weeks to get a consultation appointment. I spoke with Michelle, the surgical coordinator, who's absolutely awesome. We had a few conversations before my consultation appointment. I decided to go with Dr. Parikh. I have never met Dr. Lieberman, but I heard he was damn good. I work with a nurse that had a rhinoplasty done, she had great things to say about the Lieberman. I can tell you he does great work, by just looking at her. After my initial consultation with Dr. Parikh, I knew this guy was good. Although their cost was way higher than other plastic surgeons in the Bay Area, I knew you get what you pay for! I had to wait months to get my procedure done, but best decision I made. By the way, I was very impressed by their staff at the Palo Alto office. As expected the office was really nice, but I was impressed by the staff. They were all very kind and accommodating, till this day I've never had a bad interactions with anyone in that office, its been almost 2 years since my procedure. In fact, I still go back to this office for anything I need. I finally got my procedure done, the results were way better then I could have imagined. ALL I CAN SAY IS DR.PARIKH IS FREAKIN AWESOME! You cannot tell at all that I have had anything done! This was very important to me. I wanted it to look natural and no one can tell I've had anything done at all. Almost 2 years after my surgery I still go to Dr. Parikh, in fact, one of my favorite docs of all time. If you do your research on this doc, you will figure out he's freakin good at what he does. The office is great, the staff is amazing, Michelle is awesome and Dr. Parikh is the GOAT! Maybe I'll meet Dr. Lieberman one of these days, then I let you guys in on what i think of him. I just know that my colleague is very happy with him and the work he's done. Anyways, good luck to you all. If you're looking to have any cosmetic procedure on your face, then you have come to the right place.
First, I want to say that I greatly admire and respect Drs. Lieberman & Parikh. In addition to being highly trained, skilled and meticulous surgeons, they are kind and caring nhuman beings. I first met them on Day 2 of the COVID lockdown in March of 2020. On the day before the lockdown, I had Mohs surgery for a squamous cell carcinoma on my upper lip which left a hole the size of a dime in the center of my lip. The next day, I was scheduled for reconstructive surgery with another prominent plastic surgeon in Palo Alto. On the Friday before my Monday Mohs surgery, I received a call from the plastic surgeon’s office telling me that he was very, very ill and neither he nor his partner could perform the surgery. Fortunately, my friend, anesthesiologist Dr. Paul Goehner, asked Drs. L& P if they would step in and they agreed. I arrived at their office and met the two of them with one medical assistant who showed up to a closed office at the beginning of the global pandemic to perform surgery on a stranger. I will be forever grateful to them for this generous act of kindness! Fast forward to December 15, 2023: Drs. L & P, along with anesthesiologist extraordinaire, Dr Paul Goehner, performed their Signature face and neck lift, plus a few small adjustments to my upper lip. I am thrilled because most people have no idea I had cosmetic surgery unless I tell them. The results are subtle, but significant. A friend told me I look rested/refreshed which is exactly what I wanted. My experience with the entire L & P team was supportive, seamless, and 100% positive. A special thank you to Stacey Tentoglou (LVN & Perioperative Lead) who became my best friend for the week following surgery during daily hyperbaric chamber sessions. Yolanda Rivera (Chief Operating Officer) was wonderful, super supportive and answered any and all questions. P.S. I went out to dinner at a nice restaurant 14 days after surgery!
I always knew that at some point, I would get a facelift. At age 54, it was time. My lower face began to sag, with jowls forming along my jawline. I had sagging skin under my chin, and my neck was also beginning to get wrinkly. I could really see the sagging skin in photos and I didn't recognize myself in them. I spent a year researching surgeons, asking my dermatologist, "What about this one?" when I'd go in for botox on my eyes. She regularly steered me away from doctors I mentioned, until I asked about L&P Aesthetics. Her response was, "Oh, they are both GREAT surgeons. You can't go wrong with them." The before and afters on their site were so compelling. No one looked looked like they'd "had work done." I booked a consult right away. During my consultation, Dr. Parikh listened closely to my concerns. I mentioned that if there was something that could help the hollowness under my eyes, that would be a nice-to-have but not imperative. I'd tried fillers but wasn't happy with the results so had quit. Dr. Parikh explained the challenges of fillers and the fat pads in the eyes, and suggested a lower blepharoplasty with a limited fat transfer to address the hollowness, along with a chemical peel under my eyes to address fine lines. He told me what was realistic to expect from a deep plane facelift with my anatomy and patiently answered all my questions. A month before surgery, while going over the surgery plan, he recommended that I go on an anti-inflammatory diet to accelerate healing, which I did. On my day of surgery, I was not nervous at all. I had 100% confidence in Drs. Parikh and Lieberman. The nurses took excellent care of me. The doctors spoke with me beforehand, and into the surgery room I went. I came out groggy but feeling good. They told me that my pain level should be no more than a 3-4 on a 10 scale and they were right. I was never in pain, it was more just discomfort for the first few days due to normal swelling. After 36 hrs I didn't need anymore pain meds. Dr. Parikh saw me every few days for two weeks post-op. I was back on zoom at work in two weeks and no one noticed the swelling. Recovery was a breeze! I had a lot of normal swelling but minimal bruising. I am seven months post-op and could not be more thrilled with my results. My jowls are gone. The hollowness under my eyes is greatly mitigated. I look like me again! I cannot recommend L&P Aesthetics more. I felt cared for and cared about by everyone on their staff, and my results are amazing. My friends are blown away, and say my results have dispelled their reluctance about facelifts because my results look so natural. If you're looking for top-notch surgeons, Drs. Parikh and Lieberman are who you need to go to.
During the 1st consultation, Dr. Parikh was very attentive and ready to answer my questions & suggest the best course of action. I’ve been doing lip fillers for a few years and was not satisfied with how quickly the results would fade (my upper lip would gain the volume I wanted during the first few weeks but by the end of week three the results would subside enough that I was no longer satisfied with the look). Naturally, my upper lip is very thin and I had a very long philtrum. I’ve always disliked how flat my upper lip looked on the side view (the profile didn’t bother me as much). There was almost no projection in the upper lip. The doctor who has been doing my lip filler recommended Dr. Parikh to me among a few other options for a lip lift procedure here in the Bay Area. I ended up going with Dr. Parikh and the whole experience was excellent. The procedure itself was very comfortable. I didn’t feel anything besides some tugging now and then. The doctor also administered an upper dental block prior to injecting more anesthetic which made the whole experience much better. During the surgery, your eyes get covered with a blue and white cloth so the bright lights don’t bother you. On the day of the surgery, I had no pain at all so I hadn’t taken any pain killers. I made sure to sleep on my back in an elevated position with a few pillows. Dr. Parikh called me on my cell on the evening of the same day of the surgery to check up on me and how I was feeling (I didn’t expect anybody to call). For about a day or two, my mouth would stay open while sleeping and I noticed that I had to strain the chin muscle a bit to keep the mouth closed, but by the 3rd day, that issue resolved itself. While the mouth stayed open at night I put a humidifier around the sleeping area which helped a lot. I had almost no bruising and very minimal swelling around day three (only around the upper lip area and to the sides of the mouth). Eating was a bit of a challenge for the first week, so I stuck to a lot of scrambled eggs, homemade soups, and sugar-free jello. The doctor decided to take some of the sutures out on day 3 (on Friday) since I was healing pretty fast and the remaining sutures were taken out on day 6 (on Monday). They had to put a few sutures back in on day 6 in my right corner since I pulled the sutures a bit and slightly reopened the wound in my upper right corner trying to floss. I’m now about a month out and I see great progress in terms of tightness subsiding and the numbness having resolved almost 90%. Yes, there are visible scars under the nose and over the lip corners which are more noticeable under certain light and if a person knows to look. I don't cover anything with makeup and keep putting scar gel with SPF 30+ daily as well as doing massage with my fingers. Yes, the procedure was definitely worth it for me. I disliked my long philtrum and thin upper lip and the results are looking way better than any lip filler result I’ve ever had. Updated on 9 Dec 2022: Now that I'm about a month and a half post-op, thought I'd post progress on the scars healing. I'm pretty happy with how the scar tissue nodules have resolved significantly after I started my daily massage routine. I apply scar gel a few times a day and do circular and side-to-side motions around the corners of my mouth (for the corner lip lift scars) and under the nose. The skin is pretty red right after but this routine has helped a lot with tension and bumps. Also posting a few photos with the skin stretched out to show how the scars look stretched. Updated on 27 Jan 2023: Quick update on the scars healing progress. I keep massaging the sides of the mouth and under the nose several times a day and I see continuous slow improvement in thickness of the scar. My worst scar is right under each nostril. It is a bit hypertrophic (a slightly raised white scar), but only really visible when I stretch the skin. I assume there was more tension to the sides of the nose than right under the columella. And I also couldn't limit all motion right after the surgery since I resumed work pretty much immediately. I only have a thin line under the columella though with no tightness whatsoever. The sides of the nose are a bit tight, but massaging definitely helps. I still use scar gel with SPF 30 daily and re-apply at work when the skin dries out in the office. I wear no makeup to cover the scars and nobody has brought this up with me yet, so I assume it's not very visible (or people are not very attentive lol ). Still pretty happy with the overall results. I went from having almost no upper lip to having a lip that I can actually pucker a bit. The change is definitely not super dramatic, but it brought balance to my face that was lacking before. Updated on 22 Oct 2023: Update on my lip lift healing progress after roughly 1 year post-op. I'm rather pleased with the results and the scar. I did get 3 steroid injections to my right side under the nostril which improved the hypertrophic scar greatly! It was free and included in the post-op care. Dr. Parikh did an excellent job with the surgery itself and went above and beyond with the after care, imo! He'd assess my progress every month within the first 6-7 months and suggest steroid treatment on one side only based on the state of the scar. He made sure we didn't do a super aggressive treatment not to cause skin dimpling and disrupt the healing. And the result is great! Imo, his professional opinion is definitely something to listen to. As part of the home care, I also make sure to apply the sunblock every day (especially, here in the Bay Area and during vacation in Caribbeans). I mostly stopped using the scar gel, but make sure to moisturize. All the skin tension is gone and I got 100% of sensation back under my nose around the half a year mark. Updated on 22 Oct 2023: I'd still like to have a bit of a plumper upper lip, so I got a lip filler on top about 4 weeks ago. Now, I don't know the reason here, but this time the filler is holding great on me! The lip lift was a definite success for me and I'm happy with the end result. Prior to the lip lift, I'd get a filler and it'd be mostly gone after the swelling would resolve. It is possible that my original anatomy was such that all of the filler would immediately migrate out of the thin lip area. Now, post lip lift the filler is absolutely holding strong the way I'd expect. I also got the filler with a different provider now, with L&P where I got the lip lift. Maybe, their technique and product is better, too.
Dr Parikh listened to what I wanted, told me what he could do and what to expect. The results were exactly what I asked for and the process was a pleasure. The entire staff is friendly and genuinely seem to be caring and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and getting great value. I highly recommend!
Dr's Parikh and Lieberman are the real deal. Dr. Parikh was my primary contact and lead surgeon on my procedures, however, both doctors consult with one another and with you, as their patient. Their collaborative approach is a significant advantage and while either doctor alone is a top tier facial plastic surgeon, together they make a great team as they assess, offer and discuss various approaches to achieve the most beneficial outcome for you. Their overarching goal is a natural aesthetic, which was a must have for me, but in general, this helps to set patient expectations and deliver truly amazing, yet realistic, results. You are not going to be an overdone caricature, that's not going to happen. Both Dr's are passionate, unpretentious, and good guys. They pay attention to the details, pre and post surgery, and do everything possible to make sure your questions/concerns are addressed. They operate their practice with impeccable integrity. While no doctor can/will guarantee specific results, when unforeseen complications do arise, through no fault of patient or Dr, as happened in my case (the initial results were suboptimal due to persistent fluid accumulation), they will work with you to make things right. My final results were excellent, simply a younger looking version of myself. I am fortunate enough that I could have gone anywhere for a consult/surgery but the SF Bay Area is rich in talent, and I visited and met with many of the top tier plastic surgeons. From a medical training and technical standpoint there are quite a few excellent options available. However, from an interpersonal standpoint, clinic vibe if you will, there are no weak links, from practice managers, to support staff, nurses, treatment providers, every interaction projects a patient-centric focus and believe me, that's a big deal. Clearly, different factors contribute to each persons decision about selecting the right doctor. For me, it was three things 1. confidence in Dr's Parikh and Lieberman, 2. the patient-centric focus evident in virtually every interaction, from docs to staff and 3. referrals from other docs in effect saying -- these are the guys I would go to or at the very least, they would be on my short list.
The best of the best!! Dr. Parikh is excellent and I am extremely happy with my natural-looking results. The entire staff is wonderful, kind and very in tune with patients' needs. I especially appreciated their clear communication throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Dr. Parikh!
I have known Dr Parikh for over 5 years. I have undergone a number of procedures including Botox, facial fillers and most recently surgery. Six weeks ago I underwent a lower face and neck lift revision, upper lip lift and fat transfers. Throughout my time working with Dr Parikh I have found him very patient, approachable and willing to take all the time I needed to decide on various facial interventions. One very critical quality of his bedside manner is Dr Parikh helping to manage my expectations of treatment results and keep me safe. Revision of previous plastic surgery is tricky business. Dr Parikh was clear with me at every step of the way about the possible up and downsides of different procedures.I also appreciated that he would pull in his partner Dr Lieberman when Dr Parikh wanted a second opinion. I truly respect doctors who acknowledge they do not have 'all the answers.' Anyway my results are gorgeous! I brought in photos of how I looked 10 years ago and Dr. Parikh had those photos up in the operatory to guide his work during surgery.I should add, Drs Parikh and Lieberman do surgery as a team which I also think is a plus: 1+1=3! I highly recommend L &P Aesthetics, Dr AH.
I’ve always hated how people would tell me I look tired or that I don’t get enough sleep. I’m 24 why do I have such deep dark circles under my eyes. I’ve tried many different treatments to deal with my circles. I had to try something new, I did my research with facial fillers and decided to go for it! My consultation with L&P Aesthetics went well, I was comfortable. They really listened to what I wanted and my goals I wanted to achieve. They gave it to me, I’m so appreciative and so happy with my results! Do what works for you, a consultation will NEVER hurt. Thanks to Dr.Parikh, I gain more self confidence everyday. I’m truly grateful to have such an amazing doctor and his staff behind me to help me on my journey of self love. Don’t ever let anyone tell you different, it’s truly beautiful.
I would not recommend doing this procedure before a lift. You want your surgeon to have the best possible result and messing with the tissue that close to surgery could be risky. Best of luck.
There are so many options on the market. You need to find a reputable provider that you can develop a plan with. Skin care is an on going commitment. There is no one stop treatment for skin. In our practice we love BBL by sciton for pigment issues in skin. Best of luck with your search!
Once the lines have etched in the dermis; Botox will not get rid of them. They will soften over time with consistent use of botox. Medical grade skin care, chemical peels, laser treatments will help with the lines that are etched in. Filler in this area is not recommended. Most of out patients do both Botox and ressurfacing to get the skin smooth and healthy. Then we maintain with botox 3-4 times per year.
Blindness is not a known risk of Botox. You are most likely thinking of filler risks. Please be sure you are seeing an experienced provider. Best of luck!
These symptoms are most likely unrelated to the Botox. I do encourage you to follow up with your provide though. We like to know when things out of the ordinary happen. Best of luck!
