I’m sensitive to hair dye and perfume but want to get lip fillers. I’m scared in case I have a reaction to them.

Thank you for your question. You should be safe to get lip filler despite your allergy to perfume and hair dye. Please consult with an experienced injector and voice your concerns. 

There should be no problem having lip fillers while being sensitive to hair dye and perfume.  A reaction should not be seen, due to the sensitivities.

Thank you for your question. Filler side effects are bruising and swelling that lasts up to 2 weeks. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed examination to discuss all possible treatment options and what your expectations are. 

Fillers are used to contour facial features or add volume. You should be completely fine. The doctor can do a sensitivity test prior to injection as well.

You should be fine to have fillers despite having a sensitivity to dye and perfumes.  Please note that you may have bruising and/or swelling after filler injections. You will be see the final result from your treatment two weeks after injection.

Hair dye and perfume allergies involve specific chemicals that are not found in injectable fillers, so rest assured that you are highly unlikely to have lip filler allergy.

    I would discuss your concerns with the physician who cares for your medical concerns. If they are ok with you trying lip filler, I then would request a tiny amount of filler be placed in an inconspicuous area on your body to see if there is a reaction. If several weeks go by with no issue, I would then move forward with injections into your actual lip. This is a great way for patients to "try" a product to see how they react to it.
