Juvederm ultra 4 v. Voluma XC for cheeks: what's the difference?

Question

I've had a quotation for Juvederm ultra 4 and Voluma for cheeks. I will need 2ml, 1ml each side. The Voluma is more expensive, is it really worth it? I'm on a budget! It's my first time getting cheeks done and I want a natural lift and plumped effect.

Thank you for your question. Voluma would be a more appropriate filler for the cheeks. Juvederm XC is too thin and is more appropriate for filling lines. Voluma is a thicker product and is great for adding volume and to lift the cheeks.

Thank you for your question.Voluma is a much better product for the cheek region. It will give you more volume and last longer than Juvederm. Juvederm is better for filling in lines, it is not good for adding volume to the cheeks.

Some people respond better to one or the other but ultimately they are both in the same category. I would try whichever one your doctor recommends and try the other one the second time around and see which one you prefer. Overall any hyaluronic acid should give you your desired result if injected properly.

Hi thank you for your question.  Voluma is a superior filler in the area that you desire to have treated.  Voluma has a higher cross-link (the vycross technology of the hyaluronic acid) and thus is more firm giving you more volume and a better lifting capability.  Voluma also has the benefit of a longer duration which could save you money in the long run. Voluma is a thick filler that targets more of a "lifting" effect onto the cheekbones and that is its primary function. Juvederm is more of a utility filler (medium thickness) that can be used in multiple different areas of the face. Voluma has been shown to last longer which accounts for some of its higher price. Needless to say, not all fillers are equal! Be sure to visit an experienced injector for the best and most personalized advice.

Different fillers are used to achieve different results.  Voluma was designed to provide volume and "lifting" to the cheek area.  It is also marketed to last up to two years.  I encourage you to speak with your injector about your treatment goals to determine which product is right for you.
