Thank you for your question about Restylane Defyne and Lyft. There are some subtle differences between the two fillers. Lyft is a more robust filler and is good for lateral cheeks, chin, liquid rhinoplasty. Defyne is a bit of a softer filler, very good for the midface such as nasolabial folds and apples of the cheeks. Lyft typically lasts a year, and Defyne can last up to 18 months. To be sure, see two or more experienced, licensed and board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.
Hi there! I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Restylane Lyft has a firmer structure, making it ideal for adding lift and volume to the midface, especially in the cheeks. Restylane Defyne is typically used in the lower face and works beautifully in areas like the chin, where flexibility and natural movement are important. I always recommend starting with a consultation with a provider to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique features and aesthetic goals.
Restylane Defyne is best for areas of the face thathave a lot of motion, whereas Restylane Lyft is efficient at giving volume. RestalyneDefyne is very flexible technology and many patients see they have more naturalresults using this. However, you will get successful results with both productsin either area of the face depending on the results you are looking to achieve.
I think both products are thick enough for both the cheek and chin areas. You should get good lasting volume with these products. Both Restylane products are great for volumizing lips, and give a nice smooth presentation. Find a provider that takes his or her time and you will get a great result. Hope this helps. JB
These are hyaluronic acid fillers which are cross linked differently. Lyft is an excellent volume filler whereas Defyne is more pliable making it better in areas where animation is critical.
Restylane Defyne is a newer filler designed to move with your face and is softer. Restylane Lyft has the largest G-prime for a hyaluronic acid on the market and is a very stiff product. Both products can be used off-label in cheeks and chins depending on the overall look the patient is attempting to achieve.
Lyft lasts longer. These fillers are used in different parts of the face for different reasons. I suggest you have a full consultation with a dermatologist and or plastic surgeon for a formal recommendation.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
Thanks you for your question. Both are great fillers that can be used to help distinct areas of concern. Lyft is great to provide support to areas such as the midface (cheeks) or deep in the nasolabial folds (smile lines from nose to corner of mouth). It doesn't integrated as easily in the tissue and holds it own pretty well. Defyne is a more elastic filler so it can help in areas that have more movement. Sometimes using the stiffer products such as Lyft in areas with a lot o movement can create a stiffened appearance when someone is trying animate. As new fillers come to the maketplace, it is important that injectors learn the nuances and properties of each one to help achieve the most natural results. I would broadly categorize Restylane, Restylane Lyft and Restylane Silk as great products to help soften lines and folds that one sees when one looks in the mirror with a neutral expression. Restylane Defyne and Refyne are great to address additional lines or folds that we see when we are making expressions (pouting, smiling, pursing, etc...). I believe one of the most important aspect of a great natural result is the assessment of the facial concerns both with and without expression.
Defyne is a smoother filler and it requires less skill to deploy the product without making lumps and bumps. However, like all flavors of smooth fillers, it does not hold precisely in the tissue. So Defyne is good for general filling. To be absolutely honest, I do not see people who need general filling. They need very specific filling and that filling needs to precisely hold where it is place. For this reason, I do not like the numerous smooth fillers being pushed into the hands of injectors. What is ideal is a fussy injector working with a precise product that stays precisely where it is placed.
There should be no difference in the longevity of these 2 fillers. Lyft has a higher G prime than Defyne which makes it somewhat better for the chin. In the cheek I use both and it depends on whether lifting or fullness is the primary issue. I like Defyne because if gives a softer and more flexible cheek vs Lyft which is more structured and firmer.
