How long does cheek filler swelling take to go down and is this normal? (photo)

I would recommend waiting at least a week after your Juvederm cheek filler before having a better idea of your results.  It is not unusual to have swelling for a few days after the injection and your swelling will improve with more time.

Swelling can be typical. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler dissolved.

Swelling can take up to two weeks to completely resolve. Cold compresses and keeping your head elevated during the first couple of days can be helpful. If after two weeks you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation. If desired, the product can be dissolved with hyaluronidsase.

Following a Dermal Filler treatment, you may
notice some tenderness, redness, swelling and itching. This is common and will
usually settle within a few hours, however swelling may last for a few days. 
It is important not to rub, massage or put pressure on the area after the treatment as this may result in distorted result and increases the risk of swelling and infection. 

I would advise waiting two weeks. Then having a review with your treating practitioner. If you are still unhappy with the result, then the Dermal Filler can be dissolved by using hyaluronidase.

After treatment with Juvederm it is possible to get some swelling and bruising. The majority of this settles within the first few days and by 2 weeks you are close the final result. If immediately after treatment everything looked good the chances are that this will settle back to that look.
I advise to wait 2 weeks after the treatment for a review. If at that point there is little sign of bruising or swelling and you don't like the result then the filler can be removed. This is done by injection of an enzyme to break the product down. This is a relatively simple procedure but will give further welling and bruising which again will take time to settle. the enzyme does have a higher risk of allergic reaction than treatments such as filler.

Yes, swelling is normal. In 1 syringe of filler it is only 1mL worth of product. It is a very small amount, and it was likely placed in multiple areas. You are likely swollen/bruised. Give this 2 weeks to go down then judge your results. If you aren't happy at that time, I'd recommend following up with your injector. At that time, it can be dissolved if you aren't happy with it. Thanks for your question. Filler can take 2 weeks to settle and this is completely normal. Go back for a review with your practitioner after 2 weeks, I would avoid dissolving the filler as it will usually settle over a month or so however if you are really unhappy it can be dissolved.
