Is this normal after lip injections?

Swelling, bruising and tenderness can be typical. Icing and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Thank you for your question.I would stay patient. The swelling may take a little longer to go down because you have had it done before. There may be old filler in there, that is causing little pockets of swelling. I usually tell patients to give it a week before they make any decisions.

You still have some healing time left. You can help your lips by finger roll massaging them three to four times daily for the next week or so. If  you don't see provement by then, speak to your treating physician.

All of the symptoms you are experiencing are normal and very common with lip fillers. You should wait a full two weeks before assessing whether you are satisfied with the final result. You can use ice packs to help the swelling subside. Be sure to contact your provider and he/she may suggest that you massage the lips to alleviate the bumpy areas. If you are still unhappy after the two weeks, make an appointment to see your provider and they can discuss potential solutions, which may including using hyaluronidase to dissolve the filler. Hyaluronic Acid lip filler can be considered malleable the first 24-72 hours.  I instruct my patients to do a manual massage twice daily during the first three days after lip injections.  Because it is a high movement zone, the filler can form nodules those first three days.  If you feel anything that is like a frozen pea, you can give it a squeeze to make sure you remain nice and smooth throughout the duration.  Also, residual inflammation can last up to two weeks. At that time, is when I feel, what you see is what you get.

Hyaluronic Acid dermal Fillers including Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero,  Captique, Elevess and Prevelle just to name a few are most commonly used for lip volumization. Since the lip is a very rich blood supply it is more prone to bruising and swelling after treatment although it is not a rule. A proficient experienced Facial Plastic Surgeon will ensure the consistency of the injection is smooth by carefully massaging the material without causing too much extravasation (spreading of the material thin) of the injected filler from the intended voumization area. At the end of the treatment before there is time for tissue swelling to occur you may feel your lip and aside from certain area that will feel firm there may be areas that have a lumpy sensation within. You can gently break those up soon after the injection by gently rolling your fingers along the lip. Beware not to over handle the lip after an injection as the material may be spread away and the effect of the filling will appear to be reduced. 
With that said, as long as there are no visible lumps or bumps,  in the first few weeks after an injectionyou may still feel some lumpy sensation within the lip that will generally not bother you thereafter. However, if there is any visible deformity, make a point to see your facial plastic surgeon for possible treatment. Any visible lumps or bumps after hyaluronic acid injectables are treatable and reversible.
As to your specific situation, 2-3 days after the injection I would wait up to 2-3 weeks before becoming too concerned about any swelling or lumpiness.

You most likely still have swelling associated with the injections. It is recommended to wait a full 2 weeks to let any swelling go down before considering getting more filler or having it dissolved. Juvederm tends to feel a bit "lumpy" in the lips but eventually subsides.
