Dear Nani1987,Gilbert syndrome should not be a limiting factor when undergoing a tummy tuck surgery. You will need a medical clearance before surgery, which is typical for most plastic surgery practices.Consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to learn more.Nirmal R. Having GS does not create any serious consequence. You may notice mild jaundice when exposed to the stress of the TT. Otherwise, a clearance from your PCP or internist who is overseeing your medical condition would suffice for you proceeding with the TT.
Thank you for sharing your excellent question. Assuming your levels have been stable, your doctor clears you for surgery, and you are an otherwise good candidate, you should be able to have a tummy tuck without issue.
Helloand thank you for your question. The short answer is 'no'. Generally speaking,a stable medical condition, adequately treated, should not preventyou from getting a tummy tuck. Gilbert's syndrome only causes mild jaundice with no interference in liver function. I would suggest that you see a board-certifiedplastic surgeon for a more complete evaluation. Your plastic surgeon may wantto consult your primary care doctor or rheumatologist in order to determineyour candidacy. I have actually performed a tummy tuck on a person with Gilbert's syndrome, and she did fine. You will need medical clearance from your internist before the procedure to make sure your liver is functioning normally.Always consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to assure the best possible result.Good Luck!
You are likely still a candidate for a tummy tuck even with Gilbert's Syndrome if you are otherwise healthy. I encourage you to speak with your primary care physician about your desire for a tummy tuck. If given surgical clearance you can proceed in scheduling a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you.
Gilberts syndrome is typically harmless with the exception of possibly getting some jaundiced appearance. They should not keep you from having elective surgery unless there are other implications we are not aware of. The plastic surgeon may request medical clearance from your primary care doctor. That is probably a more appropriate person to post the question to.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Gilbert's syndrome is usually a benign condition where the liver functions normally but the bilirubin levels sporadically are elevated. Of course, you should have an internist check your other liver function tests and make sure everything is working fine and they should provide a medical clearance for the TT. Your post op course, should be unaffected by the Gilbert's Syndrome.david berman md
Thank you for sharing your question. Assuming you have been cleared for surgery by your oncologist, and you are an otherwise good candidate for surgery, you should be able to pursue a plastic surgery procedure. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question & photos! Based on your photos, you could get good results with liposuction. Liposuction will remove excess fat with some retraction of skin. A tummy tuck will address excess skin & repair of muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) sig...
The type sutures, number of layers of stitches, and technique to reestablish the muscular layer may all contribute to the tightness of your TT. Suggest you consult with a board certified PS in your geographical area and carry your records from the surgeon who performed your surgery with you. ...
Thanks for the question and sharing your photographs. You should benefit from a standard abdominoplasty with liposuction of the flanks. the abdominoplasty procedure should get rid of excess skin and tightening of muscles and liposuction will give you good contour.
Thank you for sharing your question and photographs. Although i can see the usefulness of a belt lipectomy procedure, it appears that you could have a tummy tuck alone if you understand the limitations that it offers with regards to your specific excess skin. Hope this helps.
Hi and thank you for your question. High blood pressure alone should not prevent you from getting a tummy tuck. That is assuming your blood pressure is well controlled and your health is stable otherwise. I recommend you consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and discuss your medical...
