I cannot thank Dr. Beasley and his staff enough! I had excellent care from the moment I called to inquire about a tummy tuck. Dr. Beasley made me feel cared for and did such a fantastic job on my tummy tuck! I cannot get over how good it looks! My tummy had always been a problem area for me, but after a pregnancy, weight gain, then a dramatic weight loss in my late 40's, I had to take action. I did a lot of research, and even looked for recommendations - and Dr. Beasley was at the top of the list! Now I know why....he is such a kind and caring doctor, but also truly gifted at what he does. My tummy is flat, and I have a gorgeous hourglass shape! It even looks like my hips had a little lift! It looks so much better than I thought it would - I am absolutely thrilled with my results. And the best part - I still am being given the same level of care and concern as before the surgery! I cannot recommend Dr. Beasley and his staff highly enough!
I had my breast augmentation done in February of 2016. I have seen some terrible augmentations in my time and was so worried but the final result turned out better than I could have ever expected! Dr. Beasley is great! I am often told that they look so natural, they couldn't even tell that I had implants!
Hey everyone!!! I am had my surgery on Dec 27th....while it is called a Mommy Makeover...i have zero children! I am 35, single and have lost over 50lbs and i just want the body i have always wanted! So i got the breast lifted and the pooch eliminated!! I am excited for my new body, and was anxious for the surgery, and worried about getting back in the gym. I workout 5-6 days a week so being off my gym grind for a couple of weeks worries me. Been stalking this site, had a ton of questions for my doctor! I am 3 days post op and i feel really good. Haven't bee in any pain, really just discomfort and slow moving. I was taking the pain med religiously every 4 hours....and this morning i skipped a dose and felt fine. I am pretty swollen in the mid section, love how my breast looks and will be happy when there drains are out. Overall i am super please and Dr. Beasley did a great job Updated on 31 Dec 2016: If the swelling will just go down I would be awesome!! The swelling in my abdomen is pretty uncomfortable and there is not way to sit or stand where I am comfortable :( besides that I'm pretty good! I am off pain killers from 8am to 8pm which is really good, I finally pooped, I'm keeping my drains clear and milked! I get spikes of pain and discomfort along incision site which I assume is nerves reattaching....I will never get used to that feeling! Would love for swelling to move along but I know that takes some time! Praying drains come out Wed and 2nd post op! Still happy I did this and my breast are out of this world!! Updated on 5 Jan 2017: Had my second post op appt with Dr. Beasley today! I actually drove myself to the appointment with no problem! Incisions are healing well, drains still gotta stay till next week but I'm sure it's for the best! I'm not in any pain, off the painkillers and pretty mobile! Even stopped in my office for a bit to talk to my staff. Finding the most comfortable position to sit and lay down are my only challenges! Ironically my work chair and car are the best places since they recline! Go figure! Updated on 6 Jan 2017: I felt good enough to cook in the kitchen today and a friend stopped by....he randomly took a pic of us and even with drains and swelling I am so pleased with how I look! #TeamNoBra!! Updated on 11 Jan 2017: After 2wks my drains came out!! Oh happy day!!! Still healing well! Taped up for another week but I went straight home afterward and took and nice, long, hot shower!!! It felt great! Still please with results so far! Still swelling in belly but I went back to work today and that was awesome! Still hunched over walking but no pain and happy to be out of the house!! Updated on 31 Jan 2017: My biggest complaint is the itchiness at the incision sites and dry/flakey skin that the scar gel induces....besides that I feel great and so happy with results! The swelling is going down little by little and while it's hard to be patient I know it will go down by itself. Doctor cleared me to go back to gym and I could not be happier! Took a spin class yesterday and took it easy, but it was not a problem! Updated on 23 Mar 2017: I feel and look fantastic!!! I have been blowing up social media with my pics and the response is wonderful!! Had an appointment with Dr. Beasley this week and he said he thought everything looked fantastic!! I still have swelling in belly but he says it will go down with time! I'm back full time in gym (5 days a week) and my only complaint is I'm still itchy as scars heal and sometimes they feel irritated as nerve endings fire up!! Best money and decision I have ever made!! So happy with results so far!
So I haven't had my tummy tuck procedure yet, but it is fast approaching on December 20th, is anyone else having a TT around this time?! I have researched and reviewed myself to pieces. I wil be having Exparel, did anyone have this, and feel it helped!? I'm ready to have my procedure, recover and get on with my flat tummy LIFE! Updated on 17 Dec 2016: Well 3 days and counting till my tummy tuck with muscle repair. Thought I would take some pictures today to make sure I document my own before and after. Sometimes for whatever reason you can't see results if you only see the "after". I'm SO ready you get back to my flat, smooth stomach!! Updated on 17 Dec 2016: Someone wanted to see my belly from the side... so here it is. Don't mind the boobs leaving those alone! Lol Updated on 20 Dec 2016: I had my Full TT this morning at 8am... other than my abdominal muscles being really sore, I'm feeling extremely well. I have 2 drains, theyre not bad as I thought either (Yet) Staying on top of my pain killers though!! I can already tell how super flat my tummy is based on this morning in this same shirt, before I had it done. I'm so grateful, glad and thankful that part is done!! Now just to recovery, which already is better than expected. Updated on 21 Dec 2016: Day 2, Just left my surgeons office for a check up. I'm feeling even better than yesterday. He says I'm looking and doing great, I go back in a week. My results are so wonderful already being swollen and all. I'm so glad I did this for myself!! Updated on 27 Dec 2016: Well this time last week I was headed home from my FULL TT in so much pain... what a difference a week makes!! I feel sooooo wonderful! Only pain I have is in my lower back from being bent over! Ugh But other than that I me great! No problem with bowel movements (tmi) appetite may be TOO good (I feel extra hungry) I have my energy and all is well!! I have my 2nd postoperative appt in the morning, and that will be my 1st time seeing my actual scar, I took a tiny peep under my tape and it looks very thin. I love the placement of it already for easily hidden! I'm also hoping to get at least 1 of my 2 drains out. My right drain is barely 30 cc a day now! I'm SO happy with my results, this was SO worth it, and just looking for to a nice strong, uneventful continued recovery!! Updated on 28 Dec 2016: Had my 2nd postoperative appointment today and FINALLY got to see my scar!! I must say I am VERY impressed and pleased with the way it's healing and how thin the scar is!! Still have these annoying drains though tI'll next Friday the 6th. But better safe than sorry... I'm still feeling fabulous and getting better and better every day!! Updated on 5 Jan 2017: It's been a little over 2 weeks, 16 days to be exact. I'm headed to the PS now to get these drains out!! (THANK GOD) And stitches out of my belly button. I feel 100% back to normal pain wise n movement. I can stand up straight aND just feel GREAT! I decided to take a pic in the same swimsuit bottoms I did preop and WHAT a difference in 2 weeks!!! Beyond PLEASED, EXCITED and ready for summer!!! Updated on 5 Jan 2017: FINALLY got those drains out!! I feel like a NEW "normal" again. I'm still in disbelief how fast I feel back to normal and how wonderful my results are already!! Thanks to Charlotte Plastic Surgery, Dr. Beasley for his great work on me and my Family for all their support!! The BEST is yet to come!! Updated on 17 Jan 2017: I can't believe today marks 1 month already that I had my FULL TT!! Everything is healing nicely and I'm feeling about 90% back to normal. I still have to get used to how tight my ab muscles feel. I still hesitate to move in certain ways. Lol Doesn't hurt at all, just very tight and I don't want to pull anything. I don't go back to my PS until 6 weeks postop. At my 3 week appt he said I could start treating my scar which I have. I wear my Scar FX silicone during the day for 12 hours and put Merderma on my scar every night. I also rub my entire tummy with Bio oil for the stretch marks left behind. I can see a difference already in the week, I've been doing this. I know by Summer this scar will be very light if not gone completely. I know how well mederma works from previously using it on other scars. I'll post again at 2 month mark.
I consulted with Dr. Beasley for an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). I had stretch marks and a pooch that I wanted gone since giving birth to my son 24 years ago. I simply hated my stomach. I had the consultation with him; during my consultation he explained the procedure thoroughly and explained all my options and the best solution for me. I felt completely comfortable that he was going to be “My Doctor.” The day of my surgery, I was nervous and scared. Dr. Beasley and the entire staff reassured me that I would be okay, which calmed me. All I remember was the nurse giving me my “happy medicine” and the next thing I knew, I was awake and ready to go home. It has been almost 4 months and I’m tickled pink…why because I LOVE IT!! My tummy is flatter than ever. Having the tummy tuck has changed my life! I've always felt good about myself BUT since my tummy tuck..let me just say...YEAH, YOU SEE ME! I am truly AMAZED! I wished I had done it many years ago. I recommend Dr. Beasley to EVERYONE!! Call his office today!!
i had considered augmentation for years (was a saggy "bottom boob" b cup), but because of my conservative lifestyle (Christian, wife, mom of a teenage girl, professional career), I was a bit hesitant because I didn't want to look "hoochie-ish". However, I was over having to tape myself and wear padded sticky cups just to be able to wear any type of fun dress or summer top. And, at middle age, although I work out and feel confident in "my skin", I also felt the excitement of wanting to enhancing my look just a little-- to get back the look I had prior to childbirth when I wasn't so saggy. Updated on 3 Nov 2015: I'm thrilled with my results- the best decision I've ever made concerning my body. Dr. Beasley's post surgery follow-ups are great, and just because surgery is over, his time and professionalism to ensure I'm doing well hasn't diminished a bit! Wonderful experience and incredible results!
I consulted with Dr. Beasley to restore the youth and vitality to my sagging, sad breasts. I had a tummy pouch too that needed to be gone! I had the consultation with him, during which he explained the procedures thoroughly and explained all my options and the best solution for me. I was sold. I felt completely comfortable that he was incredibly knowledgeable about the surgeries, and his before and after pictures from other patient sold me. The day of surgery he reassured and calmed me because I was a bit nervous. The next thing I knew, I was awake and ready to go home. The first thing I did? I got naked in front of the mirror and was amazed at how BEAUTIFUL my breasts were and how FLAT my tummy was! AMAZING!!! It's been five years now, and my body is only getting better. My breasts are still perky. I don't wear a bra on the weekends and you would never now. My tummy is flatter than ever. It has changed my life! I look back at my old pictures (and even at my "before" pictures) and am amazed at how much more youthful I look. I wish I had done this way before I finally decided to go see Dr. Beasley. My recommendation to others? Call his office NOW and make an appointment. You'll be thrilled.
I've dieted, exercised and no luck. I finally decided to get a professional opinion. I did and as it turns out no matter what I do all this extra skin and scarred fat tissue isn't going to go anywhere. On top of all of that I find out that I have a small naval hernia and I also have to figure out what I'm going to do about my tattoo that's directly centered on my stomach. So I had the tummy tuck and hernia removal on Wednesday it was a overall great experience and my tiger has half of a body. After surgery my back hurt so bad and I was in so much pain right under my breast. I took the pain pills and nothing was helping. I couldn't even go to sleep. My follow up appointment was the next day so I prayed for morning to come rather quickly. Day 2: I explained my pain and concerns to the dr he explained that it was normal for me to be experiencing those symptoms considering he had just detached and lifted and pull my skin down to achieve our goal. He increased my pain meds to every 3 hours and told me I was looking great overall. Needless to say I went home and started popping pills every 3 hours feeling a little better than before. Day 3 I thought I was doing better I even felt like eating something a little more than soup so I requested some eggs and orange juice!!! Big NO NO!!! OMG I couldn't even eat all the eggs once I got them and within a few hours I started to feel nausea. I was so sick so miserable!!! I spent hours in the bathroom by the toilet trying to refrain from throwing up and ripping my stitches but knowing in my mind I would feel so much better if I just did it. Yes I did twice within 2 hours all the medications that I had taken throughout the night every 3 hours without eating properly and citric acid from the orange juice it was a nightmare! By that evening I was clear of all meds and was on my way back of feeling better. Day 4 I did absolutely nothing but drink chicken broth, walked a little, and laid in my recliner in complete silence. No tv or anything! I think I was going into a transition. I didn't take any antibiotics or pain medicine I guess because I was afraid too. Day 5 Today I feel so much better. I'm not in any real pain. I'm standing up straighter and getting around a little better. I've eaten more things besides soup and I'm watching tv. I even had a bowel movement without the stool softener. In my mind I feel better without the medicine but I know I got to get myself together to at least take the antibiotics. That's another long story! Before this procedure I have never been a pill taker. So it takes me a while to even swallow a pill. If it comes in shot form or liquid , I'll take it. Lol. So for now I feel better and I'm getting better. Stay tuned on Wednesday I get these tubes out and I'll show you how I look after a week. Updated on 27 May 2014: Day 6 I'm still swollen but feel some of the pressure has been released around my ab muscles. I can get up and walk around On my own and I can stand up a little more straighter. My back pain has gotten better. It only hurt when I have been up too long. It starts to make my front feel heavy as I transition back to my hunch back so I know it's time to sit it back down. Thank goodness for my recliner!!! That's where I have been since this started. It really makes a whole lot of difference. I recommend you investing in a rental medical bed if you don't have a recliner. That's a MUST! My dr appointment tomorrow I wonder if I get these drains out and if so will they hurt. I will let you all know tomorrow and show you my 7 day post of my TT, MR and umbilical Hernia removal. Updated on 29 May 2014: Well I didn't get my drainage tubes out yesterday and that's fine I would rather wait then take out too early. They did take my stitches out around my naval. So it has been leaking down my stomach and I didn't even realize it. I'm running a low fever so I took some Tylenol. Hopefully this is normal and not a sign of infection. I will post pictures when I feel better. Updated on 15 Jun 2014: So since my last update I've had my drainage tubes taken out and I've lost 10lbs (YEAH) since surgery. I guess because I get full really quick. I'm not eating a lot. I'm still walking hunched over like a little old but I have straighten up some and I can walk a little faster. My back still hurts after I walk around for a bit from being bent over. So that's my indication to sit back down!! I'm still swollen. I didn't have any compression garments after my surgery but after reading reviews I wondered if I placed one of girdles on if it would help with the swelling and if I had any fluid it could shift it down as well. So of course I put on my body magic (the one that just wraps around your stomach). Lord knows it's tight when you don't have surgery so yes it was tight now that I had it on. The plus side of wearing it for a few hours ( all that I could take) it help my back. My posture was more up right and my back didn't hurt. Like I said I could only wear it for like 6 hours before feeling miserable. I have been applying some scarring cream my dr gave me which seems to be tightening the incision. In time I guess it will fade the scar. I also have been wearing a gauze on my navel. Since I had my stitches removed a week after surgery it has been draining. I thought it would have healed up by now but I guess the more movement I do the more it leaks. My drainage incisions closed in like 2 days. You hardly even can tell that there were actual holes there. I'm posting pics of 3 weeks post surgery. I'm still swollen but it's a huge difference. Updated on 8 Jul 2014: It will be 7 weeks tomorrow since my TT and lipo on love handles, hernia removal, & abs reconstruction. I must say I can tell a huge difference. I'm still swollen at which my dr says is normal that will take some time to go down. I wonder if it's taking longer because I didn't have to wear a compression garment. Well last night I slept in my body magic corset. I think I will continue to do this while I'm just sitting around the house and when I go to bed. Under my breast where they tighten my abs back together is really hard when you touch it. I wonder if it's the muscles that's swollen underneath. I have straighten up a whole lot but I can tell when I have done too much. In the evening when I have had a long day I can feel myself start to hunch back over. My stomach will start to feel heavy like Im carrying a ton of bricks in my stomach. There will be a slight pain of discomfort to where I'll feel as I need to lay down. I don't eat a lot because I get full really quick. I guess my stomach don't have a lot of room with all the swelling but that's a plus I can still lose some more weight. This week I will start exercising with the weights on my arms and legs. No cardio... Yet. I think, well I know that would be toooo much! I'm still in limbo about my tattoo (the half tiger )but I thought about maybe after the swelling goes down I get the other half placed back on but have it extended to my upper thigh. We will see.???? until then here are updates of my results. Oh and disregard the impressions from my corset I just took it off to breath a bit lol ???? Updated on 29 Apr 2015: In about 3 weeks it will be a year since I had my TT, HR, MR and lipo. Most importantly I went had my tattoo put back together lol. I really had mixed emotions about doing it but I just wasn't complete without. I knew it was going to hurt cause it hurt like Hell getting it in the first place but I was young then (19yrs old). I know it's almost been a year and I'm still not fully healed from the surgery. My stomach is still numb or I've lost a lot of nerves because I didn't really feel any pain in my stomach area. I knew he was there but it didn't hurt. What did hurt was the extension of my tatto that was once just placed on my stomach now stretches to my thigh. Yes thigh! I had so much skin cut away from stomach that my tatto now goes to my thigh. Now that was painful!!! Anyway I will show you what it looks like for now but I have to go back and get her colored in. Overall I feel sexy again with TT and Tattoo back even though my formation is still taking place. I will update and show the full pic once I get it colored in.
I had surgery yesterday (1/23/17) at Charlotte Plastic Surgery with Dr. Michael Beasley. I had consultations with several surgeons before I chose Dr Beasley. He had all the correct credentials and a state-of-the-art operating facility. But the main factor was he cared about me as a patient and was very conservative in his treatment. For example I asked him if I can have Lipo on other parts of my body while I was out and he said no because that would be too traumatic for my body. I liked the answer because so many other doctors try to upsell you. He has a certified nurse anesthesiologist who is excellent. In addition to finding the best doctor for me, I read real people's TT experiences on this website. So far, the pain has been very manageable. The best advice (besides finding the correct doctor) is to stay on top of your pain meds. Set your alarm to wake you up and take your pain medication during the night. Other hints: have lots of pillows on hand you will need them to try and get comfortable, drink a lot of liquid and take stool softeners, you will need someone to cater to you immediately after surgery. I'm 5 '5, 160 pounds, & have 2 teenage sons. Even when I lost the weight for each of my pregnancies the loose skin and little layer of fat around my tummy would not go away. When Dr Beasley ask why I wanted a tummy tuck I told him I just wanted to button my pants. I had to either buy a size up in my pants or wear elastic waist garments. I was fed up with it, so decided to go through with the surgery. I had the surgery yesterday at 8 a.m. and not much pain, but a lot soreness. It feels like I've been kicked in the stomach or did a thousand sit-ups. This is due to sewing the ab muscles together, not the incision itself. Honestly it is not as bad as I thought it was going to be. That's why I wanted to share my experience. It's been less than 24 hours and soreness is my only complaint. Dr. Beasley uses drains and that is a good thing. Instead of the fluid staying in your abdomen region it is drained out. I've emptied the drains five or six times already. I go for my follow-up procedure tomorrow and I can't wait to get a peek at the results. Updated on 27 Jan 2017: Today is day 5 after TT. Today has been the worst day, but not due to pain. I am very swollen, bruised, & numb. I was concerned something was wrong, so I drove myself to the drs office. He said it was healing normally & was NOT happy I had driven by myself. I am anxiously waiting for the tightness & swelling to subside.
I have always wanted a breast reduction since I was about 15. I finally started my journey back in October 2015. When I first went for my consultation in October my PS told me how he thought I would be a great candidate for surgery and he didn't see a problem with me getting approved through my insurance. I have insurance through Cigna. When it came to the requirements for the surgery I didn't have the documented visit for treatment of my back ,shoulder, and neck pain since when I was younger my doctors told me it was nothing they could do. I started going to the chiropractor for 3 months straight which didn't provide much relief. After going there for 3 months my PS submitted my claim for me. Unfortunately at first I was denied in December but decided to appeal it on my own as my PS didn't do appeals. Before my appeal I went to my neurologist as I have MS and a spine Doctor where they both wrote they recommend I get a breast reduction to help with the pain. I submitted my appeal on Jan 19 and on Feb 11 I got a letter that the decision was overturned and I was APPROVED. My surgery is now scheduled for March 23rd. Updated on 23 Mar 2016: So today was surgery and things went great. I'm not in too much pain and I feel like the result are going to be excellent. I didn't get any drains put in not do I have to wear a surgical bra which I thought was weird being that everyone's reviews I have read had one. Updated on 25 Mar 2016: So yesterday I went to see my surgeon for my post op visit. He gave me the okay to shower and sleep on my sides (which is great as I was struggling to sleep on my back). Doctor told me I will most likely be a C cup (which is what I wanted) after swelling goes down
It is normal to have decreased sensation of the skin of your abdomen following a tummy tuck. Many superficial nerve endings are traumatized with his procedure. Improvement in sensation can continue for 1-2 years following surgery. In most cases, the sensation will return. Discuss with your plastic surgeon.
Your recent tummy tuck and associated muscle tightening should not lead to any adverse effect on your pregnancy. Your body will adjust and your tissues will gradually relax as your pregnancy progresses to term. Congratulations on your pregnancy and I wish you the best.
Although all patients vary in recovery, usually it will take 3-6 months for all post operative swelling to resolve. The resumption of your exercise routines may contribute to prolonged soft tissue swelling, but will not affect your long term result. It is also important for you to know that skin re-draping will continue to improve for at least 6 months following liposuction. Try to be patient while your body heals for several months following your procedure.
I am glad to hear you are doing well following your tummy tuck. Although laughing may increase or prolong your post operative discomfort, it will not adversely affect your long term result. If internal sutures were placed at the time of surgery, they are strong enough to withstand your laughing... I wish you a continued uneventful recovery.
It is always difficult to give you a definitive answer by looking at pictures only. I would encourage you to visit a couple of plastic surgeons who are certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and who have extensive experience with body contouring procedures for patients with a history of massive weight loss. Only then can an expert opinion be given to you. Having said that, it is uncommon to require a midline vertical incision with a tummy tuck. Very good results can be obtained with an extended abdominoplasty alone. Discuss these options in detail with your chosen surgeon to come up with the best individualized plan for you.
