Can a general surgeon repair a hernia then do a tummy tuck?

Prettygirl263
I have a paraumbilical hernia. My General Surgeon consulted with me and confirmed that he is unable to do my repair laparoscopically because of the size and my stomach has a large flap with this hernia. My doctor said he has to do a tummy tuck afterwards. Is this normal? Are general surgeons able to perform a surgery of such? Are they able to perform lipo in order to get the correct results?
