Dear Mytime18,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello! Thank you for your question! It does appear that you have some delayed healing and bruising. This is not uncommon following a procedure like yours. At 9 days postop, continue to follow up with your surgeon. This should all slowly improve and likely will have no change in the overall appearance. Continue local wound care and restrictions as given by your surgeon. Best wishes!
Have your shared your concern with your plastic surgeon? You should share your concern with him/her. That said, I would not be overly concerned as long as you keep your regularly scheduled appointment and you follow their instructions regarding any care you might need. The skin margin where it is dark are a little distressed, but nothing that should cause significant concern. It may look a little worse before it gets better, but you should be fine. Best wishes.
This question is best answered by your surgeon. She/He is most familiar with the details of your surgery and how you've been progressing through recovery. From the submitted photos you have a little bit of delayed healing but overall healing appropriately for nine days post op. Remember to closely follow your surgeon's instructions and report any concerns.
It is early in your recovery and I would recommend you be seen and evaluated by your plastic surgeon as normal follow ups. It is always important to have bruising evaluated to ensure there is no collection of blood or possible skin loss impending. Scars can be improved in the future with massage, silicone sheeting, and possible revision. Again, best to be evaluated in person. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. It appears that you have a slight bit of skin/tissue necrosis at the very edge of the incision. This usually does not cause a big problem. Make sure that you have close follow up with you plastic surgeon and follow his or her recommendations for incision care.
You might have some early wound healing issues with skin blood flow issues at the incision but could also be bruised from surgery. At this point in time, nothing to do for it other than allow your body to heal. I tell tummy tuck patients that wound healing issues is something we see with these procedures and usually local wound care is all that you need to get them to heal and rarely does any revision need to be done. Followup with your surgeon and they will help guide you through the process. Good luck.
You do have some more bruising along your incision that may be indicative of some superficial skin loss. Even though this may occur you should still heal well. Follow up with your PS.
Hi and welcome to our forum! From the photographs, I note a minimal area of central crusting suggesting a very slight delay of healing of the abdominoplasty incision line and areas of patchy redness and blueness of the central lower abdominoplasty skin. The trauma of surgery may cause bruising of the skin following abdominoplasty, a normal phenomenon. However, the lower central portion of the flap has the poorest blood supply due to its distance from its sources and the blueness could alternatively suggest vascular embarrassment. and is prone to delayed healing or infection. The redness concerns me as well. I would certainly make my plastic surgeon aware of this problem if he / she is yet unaware. It may prove to be nothing serious, but an evaluation is in order.Best wishes...
Dear Dancergrl1981,Hello and thank you for your excellent question. If your medical problems are otherwise well-controlled, then you will not have an issue with having a tummy tuck. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and ...
There are definitely benefits to having an abdominoplasty other than a smaller waist and tighter abdomen!! This is a great question!! Having an abdominoplasty will definitely help with stress incontinence because it will assist in strengthening your core muscles which in turn help to strengthen...
Drinking alcohol two days before your surgery will not impact your CBC results. However your surgeon may request that you abstain from drinking alcohol for a certain number of days prior to surgery.
