I'm 32 yrs. old no children yet. I'd like to know how much fat is needed to survive once I do My BBL. I'm scared I won't have enough and if the little amount that I have will survive long term, has anyone whose done a bbl been in this situation where they don't see a difference once they've had it done?!
Answer: Survival of Fat Post BBL Thanks for your question. I think your first step would be to schedule a consultation with a Plastic Surgeon who has experience with BBL surgery. Based on what you have, they will use most, if not, all of it for the BBL. Keep in mind that some of the fat will resorb after surgery (about 20-30%). So, if you do not have much fat, then your results will not be as significant.

Answer: BBL: How much fat is needed to see a difference and how much survives? My philosophy on that is to place as much fat as possible without causing fat necrosis or undue pressure. I always anticipate that only 50% will survive, but frequently more does survive. Even on a thin patient, I can usually get an average of 800 cc of fat per buttock.

Answer: BBL results Typically about 60-70% of the transferred fat to the buttock/hips will survive after a fat transfer procedure. The fat that survives is permanent. I recommend consulting with a few plastic surgeons in person for more information since it's difficult to comment further without seeing photos.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno

Answer: BBL Questions Hello, thanks so much for your inquiry. Although every BBL patient is different, a rate of 40% of the fat injected is absorbed, if you keep your weight stable afterwards the fat that was grafted is permanent. Please make sure that you and your surgeon are on the same page. Don't forget to discuss all your concerns, options and expectations thoroughly. Have a safe and pleasant PS Journey!Respectfully,Dr. Jaime Campos-LeonBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
