What can I do to fix my side profile/nose/lips? (Photo)

Question

I never liked my side profile of my face maybe it's my nose or lips. What can I do to fix this? I always wanted to get surgery and still do to this day. I think there is no other way to fix it.

Hello, Your photo has limited view but based upon it, you are a good cadidate for profiloplasty.You need to have a whole face analyse and physical examination. You seem to have recessive chin and submental fat.You can benefit from the treatment of a recessive chin depends upon your dental occlusion. If it is normal, a chin implant will improve your appearance. If you have an overbite, jaw realignment surgery would be required and the submental fat accumulation can  be treated  with liposuction.  A well- executed rhinoplasty can create a beautiful change on your face, you can benefit some fat transfer as well to catch the harmony on your face. Piezo technology will provide you maximal healin and protect your soft tissue. Based on your limited photo you seem to be a good candidate for the Profiloplasty which is the aesthetic act used to improve the profile, making it more harmonious, in your case briefly a combination of Rhinoplasty and Genioplasty. Regarding rhinoplasty first functionality should be addressed, since the health is the priority. You may benefit of the overall reduction of your nose and tip refinement. To catch the harmony between the dorsum and the tip you might need a wing surgery, which is the removal of the excessive parts of the the alas. Your chin can be brought forward either by the chin implant or by the fat injection procedures.

Thanks for the question and photos to review. There are a number of different things tha cold be considered in order to improve your profile. Your lower jaw (mandible) is probably a bit weak and therefore your chin is also weak. In addition this has caused crowding in your neck. A good exam is in order. If this is indeed the case you might actually benefit from lower jaw surgery. This is mostly done by Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons but there are certainly Plastic surgeons who do this as well. It is fairly involved but can give remendous results. If you choose not to do that there are some other proedures which can "hide" te imperfections. This could include a chin implant and neck surgery (cervicoplasty or liposuction). Finally your nose is a little small in proportion so that raising the dorsum might give you better balance. In order to evaluate accurately- all views are needed as well as in person exam. Based on limited photo- it appears that you may benefit from a Rhinoplasty -preferably performed through a closed technique, as well as sub-mental liposuction with small chin implant . Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. A chin implant can be performed at the same time for improved jaw line contour and an improved profile. I always use a medpor implant with screw fixation, which stays in place over time. A silicone chin implant has a high rate of malrotation over time. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon. If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Hello and thank you for your question.  Modifications of anyone's profile commonly involves changes to the nose, lips, chin or other areas.  It is difficult to address what changes you may benefit from, if any, from viewing your photographs alone.  I would suggest an in-person consultation with an aesthetic plastic surgeon.  Be sure your surgeon addresses all your aesthetic goals and concerns specifically, and discusses any surgery details including the position and size of the incisions used (with actual photographs and not just digital animations), the risks and benefits of the procedure, recovery time, and post-operative course.  Also, be sure to see plenty of before-and-after pictures in women who have a profile appearance to yours, and preferably at different time frames (3 weeks out, 3 months out, etc) to more accurately predict your own surgical outcome.
  
After seeking out a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in aesthetic plastic surgery, I think the most important component of the consultation is to establish a good connection with your plastic surgeon.  It’s the connection that allows you to clearly define your desired nose outcome goals, the first step of this whole process. If you don’t feel you have a good connection with your plastic surgeon after your consultation, he/she may not be the best surgeon for you.
