I had a lower bleph with fat repositioning with an inside incision. The results are absolutely horrible. Now at 6 months post op my lateral corners are rounding and I have a gap where the lid is pulling away from my eyeball. I was told this was it a risk With an internal incision. Can someone please explain this to me. My original dr refuses to acknowledge anything or give me any answers.

Answer: Pictures Pictures would be helpful because this is an unusual occurrence for a transconjunctival blepharoplasty. Also it would be useful to know if you had any adverse post op events in your recovery. Also was a skin pinch incision done as well? At this point, you could go on consultations for revision surgery.

Answer: Lid retraction post blepharoplasty Scarring in the lower eyelid can cause lower lid retraction after blepharoplasty. A rounded outer corner with the lid pulling away (ectropion) can result from failure to address lower lid laxity during the operation. You need to see an ASOPRS affiliated Oculoplastic surgeon for an in person exam and consultation to properly evaluate your lids and offer a customized treatment plan.
