Wow where to even begin! Dr Erickson and his ENTIRE team are the best. From the time I went in for a consultation and on they were professional, caring, friendly, and most importantly REALISTIC about results and recovery. I went to a couple other doctors that did not disclose a lot of information about breast reduction and tummy tuck surgery or the recovery. Dr E, Zoe, and Sydney were so informative and made me very confident in the procedure. I’m about 6 months post op and I had no idea my boobs or body could look this great. Dr E did a fantastic job with hiding the scars so I’ve never had an issue even in different bathing suits! Could not have imagined going through this experience with another doctor and will always go back to them for any future procedures.
I can not express how much Dr. Erickson and his entire team made me feel! My first surgery ever and these guys are amazing! From the initial visit to the day after surgery, I always felt so comfortable, informed and well taken care of! I am beyond pleased with my breast augmentation and lift and can only imagine how amazing they will look in a few months. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, you guys are by far the best!
I had my eyes done (Blepharoplasty) on November 18, 2022. I am 65 and I was having trouble with my field of vision, my contacts were not sitting on my eyes well and by the end of the day my lenses were in the bottom of my eyes. My eyesight was so important and I needed to find a way to improve it if I could. I spoke with Dr. Erickson to see what my options were, the surgery had to be affordable and the recovery time short. He explained what a blepharoplasty was and in his professional opinion was the best option for the outcome I was trying to achieve. We had a conversation about whether he would use general anesthesia on me or if we were going to do a local anesthesia. I felt very comfortable talking with Dr. Erickson about my choices, I opted not to be put under general anesthesia and for him to perform the surgery under local anesthesia. There is a preoperative protocol starting days before your surgery, we went over all that information and I purchased the products and medications I would need to prepare for my surgery. The big day arrived, I was excited and scared Dr. Erickson was very reassuring and his nurse was great to. I got a wonderful heated blanket he did my anesthesia, which turned out to be a great choice, I saved some money and the little bit of pain I felt was very tolerable. Dr. Erickson was talking to me the whole time, making sure I was comfortable and not in too much pain. Because he was so knowledgeable and confident it made me feel that way too. The thought of letting someone alter your face is a really big deal, it took me awhile to wrap my head around everything. I really believe your surgeon is key to the whole experience and I was feeling very glad I choose Dr. Erickson. My recovery was much better than I expected, not a lot of pain and I could see clearly right away. I followed all my post-operative instructions to the letter. It is hard to tell what you are going to look like with the bruising and the swelling. When all of that subsided the first thing I noticed was the improvement to my field of vision, I was thrilled! The icing on the cake was how I looked, the surgery had taken 10 years off my face. I looked rested and relaxed, I cannot tell you how excited and happy I am with my surgery and Dr. Erickson. I am planning my next and last adventure in plastic surgery. I am thinking a laser resurfacing might be a good final touch!
Dr.Erickson conducted my breast augmentation surgery and the results are amazing! He was very helpful when it came to picking out the right size for my body frame. They look very natural and fit my body perfectly. I highly recommend Dr.Erickson and his staff. My overall experience was a 10/10!!
Dr. Erickson is the Boob God!! I have struggled most of my life with very large uncomfortable breast that were way to big for my body. I have for the past 10 years gone to consult after consult probably seeing well over 50 surgeons all around the country to try to find the right doctor because breast reductions are REALLY hard to make look good. Each consult I left disappointed, confused, unconfident in the doctor and scared that I’d be left with “Frankenstein” breast. Then I traveled from Austin to Houston and met Doctor Erickson and his amazing team. I knew almost immediately into the consult that he would be the doctor for me. He really took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted, was very patient with me answering all my questions thoroughly, educated me, showed me things no other doctor showed me, was a perfectionist at his measurements and markings, and made me feel confident that he would give me exactly what I envisioned for my breast! I could tell he really cared about me and my case, he even gives you his personal number for any questions and that made him really stand out from every other doctor among many other things! I have now had my breast reduction surgery with Dr.Erickson and I’m so emotional because I truly can’t believe how great my results are. His work has exceeded all my expectations and really changed my life! Like I’m truly in shock with how good my breast look! I didn’t know breast reductions could look this good! I now have the boobs that I envied off other people and wanted for so long! I am so happy I waited all these years to find the perfect doctor who is the best of the best and didn’t settle with mediocrity! I also want to mention what an incredible team he has! With this being my first surgery and a surgery I was traveling for I had a TON of questions and a lot of nerves. His awesome patient coordinator Teylor was so sweet and walked me through each step of the way answering every question I had almost immediately. She made everything so easy. His nurse Darilyn was so comforting and sweet and made me feel so good going into surgery! This team really goes above and beyond! They are the dream team! I don’t think I can thank you and your wonderful team enough! Thank you so much Doctor!!
I have never been able to lose the fat in my arms so I went in to get a consult for liposuction. Dr. Erickson explained everything thoroughly and let me know what the end results would be. He was very realistic about what my end results would be. However, I believe they are better than what I expected. I am beyond happy with my results!
I’m so happy with the results of the upper blepharoplasty that Dr Erickson did for me. It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done to improve my appearance and give my self confidence a boost - definitely “worth it”! Dr. Erickson is a great doctor, with the skill, compassion and aesthetic sense to give my eyes the refresh I was looking for. It can be scary to have surgery on your eyes - everyone has seen the unappealing results of eye surgery that looks fake and unattractive. I felt very safe with Dr. Erickson and his staff, and could not be more pleased with my results.
I have hated my thighs my entire life. My genetics gave me a pear shape that carried most of my weight in my thighs. My upper body was at least a size smaller than my lower body. Because my saddlebags were so wide, I also struggled to find clothes that would even fit. I can probably count the number of times I have worn shorts in the past 20 years. I had a baby a little over 2 years ago. I gained some weight and was really unhappy with my body. I received an email 6 months later from Westlake Dermatology advertising a discount on lipo so one of their surgeons could get the required number of procedures to get board certified. I decided to go for it! I got lipo in several areas - it was two different procedures about a month apart. The first procedure was the thighs. I got my knees and the inner, outer and back of the thighs done. During the second procedure I got my chin and upper and lower stomach. I will start my review with the results and finish with the experience. The results are shockingly bad. One thigh is noticeably and measurably larger than the other. My stomach now has horizontal pockets of fat. The profile of my stomach is a wiggly line. The front of my stomach is so unnatural with random bulges of fat. Even my chin results are uneven. My right profile is puffier than the other. The experience itself was also miserable. I don't know if this is standard, but it was an incredibly painful procedure. I could feel everything and kept communicating to the doctor that I was in pain. He just seemed annoyed by me. I kept using the laughing gas to numb the pain. At one point, he sternly told me to stop using so much without any concern for the pain I was in or offering an alternate solution. He mentioned several times that he was exhausted by the overwhelming number of procedures he had to perform in a short time. He seemed put out that he had to do lipo on me. He did not have a comforting or supportive bedside manner. He made several comments about how massive my thighs were and that he had never taken out so much fat on a persons thighs before. At my first follow up appointment, he called in a nurse to show her what great work he had done and again spoke about how large my thighs were before. The organization, booking, and instructions form the office weren't great either. The several pages of instructions seemed like they were written by someone who had never had the procedure or taken the time to edit the content into a cohesive manner. The instructions mentioned that you need to get the sutures removed in x number of days or risk an infection. They never booked that follow up for me. I called after the procedure asking when I was supposed to come in. They said the doctor didn't have any availability for another week. I expressed my concerns based on the information in the directions they provided. They said I could come in and see someone else. The woman was lovely, but expressed that she had never cut sutures before and didn't know what she was doing. It didn't seem like a complicated process, but I found it alarming that they wouldn't plan for that with every surgery and train their staff in advance. They should have a standard process in place. I didn't go to the next follow up. I reached out to the office staff and told them that I was unhappy with the results and didn't feel like trust had been established between me and the doctor to continue on to another procedure. I feel like I spent a ton of money on these procedures only to end up in the same (if not worse) boat. I couldn't wear shorts before. Now I can't wear shorts or a two piece bathing suit. It's taking me a year and half to feel up to talking to other doctors about what my options are. I have some consultations set up, and will share updates for others who are in a similar situation. Updated on 5 Oct 2023: Updated on 25 Feb 2024: I visited several doctors for consultations on my revision. This time around, I was more mindful about getting to know the surgeons and their work. I also chatted with previous patients and asked for before/after pictures of the exact surgery. All of the consults suggested that I redo the inner thighs, outer thighs, and the banana roll. The total cost is just over $8k. This includes an additional cost per area due to possible scar tissue. I am disappointed to be paying for the exact same surgery a second time. It’s also quite an investment in time and energy to go through the recovery process all over again. However, I am looking forward to having evenly sized thighs and not being embarrassed anymore. I will post another update after the recovery and let y’all know how it goes. ???? I also want to note that I returned to Westlake Dermatology for one of the consults. They recommended the same - inner, outer and banana roll +fees for previous surgical areas. The conversation confirmed that I paid for Smartlipo with Dr. Erickson, but he performed traditional lipo - a cheaper, less effective and more painful alternative. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, talk to real patients. Get real before/after questions.
Hello! I'm sorry that your recovery has been so draining, tummy tucks and breast surgery can be tough. If you are 6 months out and you still have loose skin (in photos) then it's highly likely this will not improve in my humble opinion. From the photos there are a few things that I notice, one being that you have striae (stretch marks) of the abdomen which usually indicates that the skin has thinned and lost it's structural integrity, integrity that would help keep a pulled abdomen tight and flat. Another thing is some of these photos are in a sitting position and everyones abdomen can be a little loose in this position. That being said, even when you are standing there is laxity on that side profile photo. My best advice without examining you or being in your operation would be to have a discussion with your surgeon and voice your concerns about the laxity in your tummy. Hopefully he/she will agree that the laxity is not ideal and will offer a revision of the tummy tuck to remove the excess skin. With regard to your breasts, the implants appear to be in the appropriate position without any obvious signs of bottoming out based off the photos. The implants will sit higher as I'm sure you are aware at the early postoperative period and then settle/center themselves in behind the nipple/areola. Please let me know if you have any questions and don't give up hope!
Hi Katy, Sorry to hear that you are not thrilled with your outcome. Given that there are no photos it’s tough to say what the real issue is but by your description it sounds like there isn’t much support of your lateral canthus. This would give a “rounding out” look to the lateral part of your eye and could also allow the lid to migrate away from the globe creating that “space” you mention. What can be done about it? That is unfortunate that the original surgeon is not responsive to your concerns. My best advice is to seek a board certified plastic surgeon or oculoplastic surgeon that may offer a revision using likely what is called a canthoplasty or tightening/repositioning of that lateral canthal support system. Again, it is hard to say without photos and actually examining your eyes but this is my best guess based off your description. Good luck and seek out a second opinion :)
When I look at your preop photo there are a few things I see. Your IMFs (inframammary fold) or folds underneath the breast are not at the same level. The right breast fold is higher than your left breast fold. The areola (pigmented skin around your nipple) are also in different positions and not completely symmetric. Lastly, your left breast is larger than your right breast before the surgery. Your case is a difficult one given what I just mentioned above. From what you mentioned in your question it appears that you received 400cc implants in both breasts, and you are concerned about that left breast being too full compared to the right will be my assumption? I don’t believe your surgeon “failed” or chose different implant sizes in the OR (however I was not there in your surgery) It appears that you had these subtle asymmetries before your surgery and when patients get breast augmentation those subtle asymmetries can become more noticeable. Your left breast was already larger than the right before surgery and after adding 400cc of volume to both breasts your left breast will still be larger in relation to the right. I think you have a good result in my humble opinion but if this bothers you I totally understand that because you are correct the left breast is larger. I would wait the full year to allow everything to fully settle and mature and schedule an appointment with your plastic surgeon and bring up your concerns. The likely course of action is to place a larger implant into the right breast but 410cc implant is not large enough (or a big enough difference) in my opinion. Closer to a 430-450cc to see a noticeable change. Hopefully, I have understood your question and concerns and I wish you the best of luck! Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
