I am 3 stone overweight, with a bmi of around 33, and I’m looking into having a mommy or mummy makeover, or the gastric sleeve. I not actually unhappy with my weight, I just hate my stomach after having 2 kids via c section, and I also hate my boobs after breastfeeding. I have a curvy shape which I would like to keep. Shall I have the gastric sleeve/band or get off my ass and try to lose the 3 stone so I can get the mommy makeover and get the boobs and flat stomach of my dreams lol? Helppppp

Answer: Weight loss surgery The decision to undergo weight loss surgery before a Mommy Makeover depends on various factors and should be discussed thoroughly with your healthcare provider. A BMI of 33 indicates that you're in the "obese" category, and this might increase the risks associated with surgical procedures. Weight loss surgery could be considered as a step toward achieving a healthier weight before undergoing elective cosmetic procedures. Losing weight before a Mommy Makeover can offer several advantages: Reduced Surgical Risks: Lowering your BMI can decrease the risks associated with anesthesia and surgery. Better Cosmetic Outcomes: Weight loss before surgery might improve the aesthetic results of a Mommy Makeover, as it can help the surgeon better contour the body. Overall Health Improvement: Losing weight can improve overall health, potentially reducing the risks of complications during and after surgery. However, the timing and necessity of weight loss surgery before a Mommy Makeover depend on individual circumstances. It's crucial to consult with both a bariatric surgeon and a plastic surgeon to create a comprehensive plan tailored to your specific health, goals, and needs. Your healthcare providers will evaluate your overall health, assess the risks and benefits, and guide you in making the best decision for your situation. They can provide guidance on whether weight loss surgery prior to a Mommy Makeover would be beneficial in optimizing your results and ensuring your safety during the procedures.

Answer: Mommy Makeover BMI Thanks for your question. At my practice, the BMI max limit for a mommy makeover is 33. That said, if you're not unhappy with your weight, but want to be under a 33 BMI, I recommend you speak with your primary doctor to see if he/she can help you with a weight loss diet plan instead of undergoing weight loss surgery. That said, if your problem areas are your stomach and breasts, a mommy makeover will definitely help to correct issues. I recommend scheduling a consult for a proper evaluation. Always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Moises Salama MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Mommy makeover surgery Hi, Thank you for the question. Based on what you are describing, you appear to be a good candidate for a mommy makeover surgery, which in your case may include fully tummy tuck with liposuction. It can be safely performed with BMI of 33. Liposuction of your abdomen and flanks can help create the hourglass figure, and tummy tuck will address the excess skin below belly button and help achieve a flat abdominal contour. However, it is difficult to tell without seeing photos. I would recommend an in person evaluation by the Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to evaluate the thickness of your skin and status of your muscles I hope this helps.Best regards, Dr. Karanetz Dr. Irena KaranetzBreast Fellowship-TrainedBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
