Breast implant removal - will my breasts go back to normal?

I’ve had breast implant for 1 years and 6 months and I’m very unhappy. I always thought getting breast implants would make me happier but they have done the opposite. I’m very self conscious of how they look in clothes and they feel too big for my small frame. One boob also is higher than the other. I was originally a 32 c and has 325cc which has made me a full E. Do you think that removal would work and would my breast go back to normal.

Removing you breast implants does not mean you cannot have a natural looking breasts again. There are many things to consider when explanting. First making sure you choose a surgeon that will remove the entire capsule as well as the implant en bloc fashion. Then depending on your body frame and breast tissue will determine your result as well as how good of a job the surgeon that put your implants did. Consulting with me would give me a better understanding of what can be done for you.

My opinion is that a breast implant removal should be combined with immediate breast enhancement to reposition the mammary tissue and improve projection of the upper pole and medial areas using the BRALAN Technique (Breast Reconstruction Anatomical Lift Augmentation) since the results will be adequate in terms of aesthetics and have a minimal scar in the shape of an L. If you are considering a breast explantation, consultation with a plastic surgeon who is experienced in this procedure is essential to ensure optimal results. Best wishes!

Hi, sorry to hear about the difficulties that you are going through. Breast implant removal is unlikely to result in our breasts returning completely to how they were prior to the surgery, but you should get some skin retraction and tightening after they have been removed. The extent of this depends on your age, skin quality, and the proportion of your breast that is your own tissue versus implant. Best of luck

it is hard to tell for sure, but there is high chance that your breast will return to pre-surgery size. You might also have saggy breasts, so breast lift will probably be an option. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

The breast volume will decrease after implant removal. However, the skin can be stretched and hang. Many women who undergo implant removal alone are dissatisfied because of the excess hanging skin and require a breast lift. The technique I recommend is explantation and lift using The Bellesoma Method. The implants are removed, your breast tissue is reshaped creating upper pole fullness, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery.

When you remove the implants you will lose the volume they provide.  Your skin will retract to some degree but a number of factors will influence how much.  Those include the size of the implant, how long it has been in place, and your skin elasticity.  Your surgeon can advise you if a lift is recommended for you.  It can often be done in conjunction with the implant removal.

No, your breasts will not go back to the original size and shape since the implants has stretched and thinned your own tissue. You might consider going down in size, maybe 200-250 cc's, or even 150-200 cc's. Remember, you were not happy prior to implants and may not be happy once removed.

Having breast implants can change the appearance of the Breast and explantation does not necessarily bring people back to pre-augmentation contour.
Scar tissue from the capsule around the implant can I have certain impact on the breast and augmentation can potentially stretch skin and breast tissue.
Individuals who had implants for many years, can see indentation on their ribs as well.
Explantation generally brings people back to pre-augmentation, size and contour, but there may be certain changes. Potential changes vary substantially from patient to patient and has a lot to do with the size implant, chosen.
If you’re not happy with the augmentation, then explantation or implant change seems appropriate.
For most patients especially after a short period of augmentation things usually return fairly close to normal.
