Is cosmetic Botox recommended while recuperating from a bone fracture (TPF)? (Photo)

This is week five of my TPF recuperation process and it has been 4 months since my last Botox treatment. I don't want to let anymore time go by, but I am also afraid it might affect the bone healing process. Please advice.

There would be no problem with receiving cosmetic Botox to the face while recovering from a bone fracture in the leg.  One will not affect the other.

Generally speaking, facial Botox injections are very safe, even for patients recuperating from orthopedic surgery such as yourself.  This will have no effect on the bone healing process.  Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Botox is safe to use while you are recovering from a fracture or surgery.  Botox is used in very very small amounts and stays in the muscle where it is injected.  It does not travel to other locations in the body.  It does not effect any healing processes.   It is safe.

Botox is an medication that works in the muscles where it is injected. When properly administered, it does not travel to other parts of the body or affect non-muscular tissue.While you're healing from an injury or surgery, it is safe to stay on schedule with your Botox injections. I'm pretty cautious, so I would avoid injecting Botox in the area of the actual injury, particularly the face. If you have any doubt or concerns, it's also perfectly fine to delay your Botox until you're done healing. Safety is the priority. I recommend bringing up your concerns with your provider. They should take the time to answer all of your questions before your next Botox injection.

I am not aware of any reason you could not have Botox based upon your recent fracture. Botox temporarily paralyzes the muscles but has no know effect upon bone healing. Hope you heal quickly. Good luck.

Botox injections for your glabella, forehead, and peri-ocular rhytids/wrinkles should have no effect on your knee/TPF surgical recovery except to make you look more re-freshed, relaxed and youthful while you recover after weeks 6-7 :)Benjamin J.
