Burning eyes 9 hours post botox injection in between brows. Will my vision be affected? Will I have droopy lids?

Question

I just had botox injection between my brows (15 units) administered by a plastic surgeon about 9 hours ago and my eyes are burning. I am freaking out so much to the point that I can't eat. I am a film maker. I shoot and edit video for a living. I cannot have anything happen to my eyes. Does this mean I will have droopy eyes and affected eye sight here soon? Please help. I can't eat or sleep I'm so delirious. The burning on a scale from 1-10 is probably a 4-5. It seems as if it's getting worse.

Botox injected in the brows would not cause burning of the eyes and should have no bearing on increased risk of ptosis or blurry vision.  It is likely a coincidence, but make sure you are evaluated for the cause.  It could potentially be related to a product applied such as a numbing cream.

It is unlikely that the burning in your eyes that you are experiencing is realted to your Botox injections.  However, if you are concerned, call your doctor.  Doctors should always be available to discuss concerns of their patients.

The Botox injection you had is not directly related to the burning of your eyes.  Since you are very upset and it is interfering with your daily living you should contact your plastic surgeons office and inform them of your concerns.  It takes a few days to notice a drooping eyelid if it in fact occurs.  I hope this helps.

Time will tell whether you develop droopy eyelids but the burning of the eyes are not likely related to Botox.Also not likely that you will develop blurred vision.H Karamanoukian MD #RealSelf100 Member

Thank you for your question, and I hope you recovery rapidly. I would call the office of your injector and be seen for a follow up if your symptoms do not improve. If Botox is injected too close to the eyelids, then it can migrate to the eyelids and cause ptosis or "droop".
