Botox should not be performed around the mouth on the day of and shortly after dental procedures. Swelling and trauma to the areas could effect results negatively. Similarly, filler should not be done just prior to in the few days after dental procedures depending on the extent of the swelling present. Wait for all swelling to reduce before considering filler to the lips. Botox away from the mouth should not be affected by dental work.
Hi cinzia1, it depends on the degree of dental treatment that you are getting. If you are going in for a simple cleaning, you can have the Botox and filler any time. If you have an infection or are getting more significant dental work done, you should consider waiting 1-2 weeks before having Botox or fillers.
Thank you for your question. If there is dental infection, I recommend waiting 3-4 weeks before getting dermal fillers. Otherwise, waiting 2 weeks after dental work is recommended. Dr H Karamanoukian#RealSelf100 Member
I tell my patients to wait 2 weeks after getting fillers to have any dental procedure. Also, it a lot of dental work is planned, wait til after completion to get filler. This is because there is bacteria in the bloodstream during dental work and it could seed the filler (get it infected). There is increased blood supply initially, so that is why waiting is better. It doesn't matter with Botox as long as it's done 4 hours after treatment.
Thank you for your question. I am assuming you are asking about doing these all at the same time? I would advise against that. First of all Botox and Fillers should be performed by a board certified Dermatologist not a Dentist. Secondly, Botox would need to be performed after the dental treatment because if you had Botox and then the Dentist reclined you it could affect the spread of the Botox. Regards, Dr. Matt Elias
Botox injected in the brows would not cause burning of the eyes and should have no bearing on increased risk of ptosis or blurry vision. It is likely a coincidence, but make sure you are evaluated for the cause. It could potentially be related to a product applied such as a numbing cream.
The good news is, the results from BOTOX® and any other neurotoxin are not permanent, so any results you’re not pleased with will go away over time. Unfortunately, there’s no way to “undo” results from BOTOX® or speed up the time it takes for your body to metabolize it. Injecting BOTOX® re...
There is no reason why someone with lupus cannot get botox or fillers, I suggest treatmend when the disease is not active. Best, Dr. Emer.
It is best to avoid treatment with botox immediately prior to any surgery forehead or eyelid surgery so as not to adversely effect the results of surgery. Elevation of the brows or change in appearance could mask your real issues and lead to an less than satisfactory result.
