Slight bruising 3 weeks post op breast implants. Is this normal?

not worry. Sometimes blood can come up to the surface that has been sitting in
the surgical site for a long time before it appears as a visible bruise on the
skin. If your bruised breast is not markedly swollen, and the pain is
improving, this is not of concern. Good luck with your recovery.

This can be normal. I would still call the surgeon's office even though he is out of town. There should be a covering physician or nurse that possibly could answer your question more directly. If the bruising area increases then I  would call and seek in appointment.

 Without your photos- impossible to comment accurately. Generally speaking, by week 3 bruises usually subside but it takes 2-3 months for swelling to go down. I would recommend seeing a PA or nurse at the office. They can take your photos and send to your doctor as well.

The small amount of blood that leaked into the tissues after surgery can take time to move toward the skin, so it's not unusual to see a late bruise. However, to make sure you don't have a new bleed, it would be a good idea to contact your surgeon's office. They should be able to tell you what plastic surgeon is covering for your surgeon.Good luck!

It's impossible to say without pictures, but from your description it sounds ok. Bruising can appear late like this. It usually is just dependent bruising that is appearing and will go away on it's own.Late bleeding and hematoma can happen in the postoperative period. This is significant but usually the breast is obviously swollen and "full" with blood. This requires surgery in this rare event.See your doctor or a nurse in the practice.I'm sure it is going to resolve and fade.I hope this helps. Dr Chris Saunders

Without seeing you in person, it is difficult to say. Bruising can show up a week or two later and may mean nothing, but always best to be examined to be sure.

As you can imagine, online consultants will not be of enough help to you to be truly reassuring, but your description does NOT sound concerning to me. If in doubt, seek follow-up with the surgeon who is covering for your plastic surgeon in person. Best wishes.

If your breast implants are soft, movable, symmetrical and you do not have pain than bleeding or a hematoma is unlikely.  If you have had the bruising shortly after surgery than it is simply taking a long time to resolve.However if you have a new bruise that occurred at the three-week stage you need an examination.  I agree you should check with your plastic surgeon's office to see if a nurse or another plastic surgeon who is providing coverage can see you for an evaluation.
