Is it normal to feel the implant move with arm movement at 4 weeks post op? (photos)

Thank you for your question.  After your #breast #augmentation, it generally takes 2-3 months for implants to settle and
muscles to relax.  It takes time for the skin and muscle to stretch and relax around the
new #implant. The breast will often look higher, firmer, and “less natural” in
the first three months.  Always contact your #boardcertified plastic surgeon if you have concerns about any new and sudden changes in the feeling or look of your breasts/implants.

implants under the muscle will move as the muscle flexes.  It is normal with submuscular breast implants.  The discomfort may be something unrelated to the movement.  An in-person assessment would be needed to determine what is going on exactly

After reviewing your photos- you do not appear to have any complication thus far. It will take as long as 90 days for your body to accept and embrace your implants. During that period of time you may experience certain unusual sensations most of which will disappear after that time.

Most people can feel their implants moving with arm motion, and it is common for that to be more obvious as the healing occurs.  However, it is best to consult with your surgeon to make sure there are no other issues.

You should see your plastic surgeon for an evaluation. Not only is a physical exam important for him/her to try to figure it out, but your surgeon will also be able to monitor changes over time.Since the implants were place under the muscles, use of the muscles can move the implants. How much movement varies widely. It's unusual to develop pain after what sounds like a smooth recovery. That needs to be looked into.Good luck.

Most people feel their implants move.  This may get better with time as you get used to the implants. But I can;t say for sure if it will go away.

From the photos submitted and clinical description of your
sensation, it appears that as you move the arm the breast implant itself is
moving and this is quite normal. Over
the weeks following breast implant surgery, the breast implants themselves
generally soften the pocket and move naturally with your breast gland and muscular movement, such as the pectoralis major, arm and other
chest muscles.In general, it is not
alarming that this would happen and it is generally quite expected. Of course, there can be underlying
physiologic and pathologic concerns that would best be ruled out by your
operative plastic surgeons. They are in
the best position to assess your current concerns based upon their knowledge of
the operative anatomy and how the procedure was performed.

I would strongly suggest you visit with your surgeon to
reassure yourself and him or her that this is healing uneventfully.

Thank you for your question.  If your breast implants were placed beneath the chest muscle then are movement can cause contraction of the pectoralis muscle and cause the implant to move.  However I strongly urge you to consult your plastic surgeon for an examination and diagnosis. Do not rely on the Internet advice.
