Do hot showers or hot weather increase swelling after rhinoplasty?

it has been 2.5 months since my rhinoplasty, and i still have alot of swelling even though most of it has subsided however upper lip is still swollen. Since i live in the middle east with alot of humidity and dryness, could this possibly effect the rate of my healing process ?

One of the main reasons for persistent tip swelling is the thickness of the skin in that area.  Other reasons are usually due to grafts placed and/or the amount of work performed on a particular region.  Raising blood pressure, warmer climate and certain foods may also result in nasal tip swelling.  Relay your concerns to your surgeon and he or she will provide a realistic timeline of events to expect certain results.  Good luck!

Avoid direct sunlight to your nose, and when you feel it is swelling apply ice compresses and chill out for a while.  You will experience swelling for up to a year, on average.  Follow up with your surgeon as recommended.
