I advise my patients that they can wear makeup on their nose immediately after the splint is removed and the skin is cleansed. In some cases, your skin might be very congested from the splint, tape and adhesive but if it is not, makeup should be perfectly fine. I hope this information is helpful for you.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Hi! Thank you for your question.Rhinoplasty surgery is among the most complex and invasive of all plastic surgery procedures. The ease of your recovery depends on how closely you follow your surgeon’s postoperative instructions. If you can stand to let the bruising show for first week that is ideal, if you feel you must cover it up you may do so just make sure it doesn’t come 1cm of the margin of the case. When applying makeup the key is to avoid getting the cast wet, if the cast gets wet it may fall of before it’s removal date. While you can apply makeup and creams you must be careful removing them and use a cleansing cloth or eye makeup remover instead of water. For makeup use mineral-based products because they are gentler and provide great coverage. Green color-based foundation helps with redness and gives patients a more natural skin tone, and apply powder one shade darker than usual. As with every procedure make sure you consult with your doctor.
Dear meh2in General, you can use makeup on you nose once your cast is removed. I don't know of a routine reason why you could not use makeup at 2 weeks post op. You should always confirm w your surgeon.
Thank you for your question. When our patients have rhinoplasty, we typically use 10 day make-up free post-surgery period. Incisions should be closed and not crusting or "weeping". If you have incisions that are still crusting and not completely healed, I would avoid applying make-up to the incision itself. Otherwise, best of luck to you and I hope this was helpful.
It is commonly asked if a procedure is covered. Rarely do we know what your benefits and coverages are. After you find out what you have, call up your insurance company and ask what type of documentation is required for your problem(s).Sometimes the doctors office will help with obtaining a...
There is no evidence that rhinoplasty can start the development of a rhinophyma. Just having sebaceous skin alone is not enough of a risk factor that a rhinophyma will happen. Rhinophymas are uncommon entities and rhinoplasty can be done without much concern.RegardsDr. J
The nose appears as such because of the nasal hump pushing the nasal tip downwards. Once the nasal hump is removed, the tip moves upwards and the nose does not appear to be bent downwards. RegardsDr. J
