When can I play drums after Rhinoplasty?

I want to play with my band and its been 10 days since my rhinoplasty surgery. My surgeon said no "vigorous" exercise for 2 weeks and then no running (etc..) for 4 weeks. Can I play my drums 3 weeks after surgery? It does increase my heart rate but its not like im running 3 miles. I sweat a tiny bit when i play but nothing major.

Plain drums is not a vigorous exercise and can be resumed as early as 1 week after surgery if it is being done for possible pleasure.  If you're doing it with a band in an atmosphere that might be filled with people, dust or smoke and you have to protect her nose for at least 3 weeks.RegardsDr. J

Your surgeon knows exactly what was done during your surgery so you should follow your surgeons advice and ask him/her specifically whether the drums are a good idea or not.

Playing drums is quite vigorous, If you play like David Grohl, or Bonham, or Moon, then you better give yourself more time. Best to check with your surgeon.
