I’ve had at least 10/11 injections over the last year and a half and no lip filler will last. I don’t do hot yoga, I drink water, I don’t work out hardcore, is there anything I can do to stop my body from metabolizing it?
Answer: I’ve tried multiple brands and types of lip filler and none last past 4 months. Can I stop my body from metabolizing it? There is no way to make your body metabolize the product slower. It could be that you were undercorrected or that you need a different filler. You can consider fat grafting or implants, but those come with risks that must be considered. I encourage you to visit with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon near you to discuss your concerns and learn of options.

Answer: Lip fillers keep metabolizing there is no way to stop the metabolism but you can use other fillers that last longer like voluma or small quantities of bellafill. You can get an implant for fat but I like the look of fillers better. lip plumpers can help as well (see link). Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Lip filler and longevity of results The FDA recently approved Restylane Kysse for use in the lips and perioral lines and results with this filler may last up to 1 year. I would give it a try if you have not already done done. In general, filler in the lips does not last as long as filler injected into other parts of the face. I usually tell my patients, treatment will likely need to be repeated every 6 months when it comes to lip fillers.

Answer: Lip fillers Thank you for your question. May I ask which fillers did you use? There are different dermal fillers that last anywhere from 6-18 months in lips.

Answer: Longevity of Lip "Filler" I do not know what brands or fillers you have tried, but I find it very unusual that you have found none that last very long, as there are now multiple ones that usually last up to a year and a few that will last about 18 months. It also depends on the injection technique, some lasting longer than others. If you have, indeed tries them "all," then there is always fat grafting. Some physicians do not like fat because "it doesn't last." This is simply because they do not understand how to do the injection of it. What you need to do is gather information about everything you have had injected and see an expert plastic surgeon who is experienced with both fillers and fat.
