Will my fat pockets go away with a tummy tuck? (Photos)

Yes, a properly perform tummy tuck will address the upper fat pockets. I would recommend liposuction in 360° followed by an abdominoplasty procedure. Liposuction will help thin the areas of fat to create a smooth S-curve to your abdomen, waistline, and love handles.

Great questions. When I have treated patients that do not like their upper abdominal and bra line fat pockets, and have mid and lower abdominal skin laxity, they have had their expectations met with a tummy tuck and liposuction of those areas. It is best to have an in depth consultation with a few Plastic Surgeons, certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, who can review your concerns and expectations after a complete examination. This way you can best understand your options. Many of my patients do not need muscle tightening, only liposuction of the fats pockets, removal of the excess skin, and repositioning of the belly button. My patients are asked to show me where they would like their lower abdominal incision placed so that they can hide it under the types of underwear and bathing suits they want to wear. Good Luck!

Dear crazydaisyx6,based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Thank you for your question and photos. There upper abdominal bulges you have is some skin redundancy and small fat deposits. These are very common in all women. With tummy tuck they are corrected as all of the skin is pulled down and stretched. If they are very prominent, light liposuction of the bulges may be done, but is not always necessary. Your plastic surgeon should be able to address these during your procedure. Good luck.

Daisy.  Excellent question. It appears from your photographs that the area of concern of your upper abdomen, above your bellybutton, appears mostly to be redundant skin combined with a bit of fat. At the time of tummy tuck, i perform liposuction within the flank regions and sometimes, as in your case, very conservatively, in the upper abdomen. That area maintains the blood supply to the skin and much care with regard to liposuction must be taken. If any residual fat is present 6 to 8 months after surgery, touch up micro liposuction under local anesthesia can always be performed. Discuss these options with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area. Good luck.

You look like you are an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck and will likely get a nice result with the right surgeon.  The areas that you are noticing in your upper abdomen are due to an area of dense connective tissue that runs from your upper abdominal wall to the skin above.  This area will be released with a full tummy tuck and you should get a nice improvement in the contour, as the skin flap is stretched down to remove the lower loose skin.  Best of luck on your journey.

question. The areas of excess fat and skin of your upper abdomen can be addressed during a full tummy tuck.  Based on your photograph, you are a great candidate for a tummy tuck
with liposuction.  This can be done
through a low and short incision, all completely below the bikini line.  The belly button can be designed to look
natural and have no scars on the exterior.  
Your muscles can also be plicated resulting in a flat abdomen.  Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.

A tummy tuck will remove excess fat and skin as well as correct abdominal wall laxity. The result is a flatter, tighter tummy. Patients often elect to also have liposuction of the hip/flank area to give a more complete result. You appear to be a good candidate and should have a nice result, including the upper abdominal contour that concerns you.

Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for liposuction and a tummy tuck, to give you a nice tight tummy, and I think you'll get very good results. 
Along with the tummy tuck, liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You improve your waist, back and flanks.
In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.

You are an excellent candidate for a full tummy tuck.  I'm confident that the upper "pockets" that you have will go away when the skin is re-draped during a tummy tuck.  If for any reason it doesn't completely go away, then a small amount of liposuction could be done to correct that, but I don't think that will be necessary.  You will have an excellent result.  Certainly choose a board certified plastic surgeon to do your procedure and discuss your concerns during the ocnsultation.  Good Luck!
