What could cause sudden red, itchy bruise looking spot on breast? (photos)

Thanks Anglez13 for your question . While it's important to consider breast implant-related issues, there are several more common causes for a sudden, red, itchy patch on your breast. Here are a few possibilities:
-Eczema is a common skin disorder that results in skin that is dry, itchy, and irritated.
-Allergic Reaction: A reaction to a new product, medication, or substance that irritates your skin.
-Insect bite may result in a red, itchy area on one side.
-Infection: Redness, itching, and swelling may be symptoms of a bacterial or fungal infection.
Problems Associated with Breast Implants:
-Capsular Contracture: This occurs when scar tissue forms around the implant, leading to pain, shape changes, and skin irritation.
-Implant Rupture: An uncommon problem in which the implant leaks, sometimes leading to discomfort and inflammation.
If you have any of the following symptoms, it's importantl to see your doctor as soon as possible: persistent or increasing redness, itching, discomfort, or discharge from your nipples; changes in the look of your nipples; fever or flu-like symptoms; or lumps or thickening in your breast tissue.
To identify the underlying cause of your symptoms, your doctor can conduct a physical examination and, if required, prescribe tests, biopsy depending the exam.

Definitely follow up with your PCP or dermatologist.  This does not appear to be a problem with your implants but instead a topical (skin-only) issue.  Best of luck.

Not much can be said based on a picture alone.  Seems like an abrasion or a reaction to something.  If this does not improve over the next few days or seems to be getting worse, let your surgeon know.

It's been quite a while since you had your surgery and because it's a rash on the surface of your skin, it may not be related to your implants. The best thing to do would be to see your family doctor first.

Call your primary care physician today  to be evaluated. He/she may also want the help of a dermatologist if it is something they are not familiar with.  It is best to be examined in person for a diagnosis.  Good luck!

Seek immediate term or urgent care intervention. Rule out dermatitis or bed bug bites, etc,... Please inform the RealSelf site of your findings... 

Three possibilities.  Contact dermatitis which will respond to topical steroids.  Fungal rash which will respond to topical Lamisil.  Or bug (spider?) bite which should improve with topical benedryl.  If this persists, see your PCP.

Angelz13,That looks like an area of contact dermatitis on the skin (allergic eczema).  There are many causes, particularly close and prolonged contact with laundry products, contact with nickel metal, etc. Another cause could be a fungal infection of the skin, but in any event, it is not at all likely associated with implants.  A dermatologist is the usual route for diagnosis, and treatment, if needed.
