To make a quality assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of before and after pictures. I’m not sure if your first picture is a before picture or not. If you don’t have proper before and after pictures and ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. Massage does not alter the outcome of Liposuction. It sounds like your doctor is failing to take ownership and responsibility for the work they did. Delivering consistent quality, Liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons of mastered this procedure are in a small minority. Patient should be highly selective of choosing providers for permanent irreversible body contouring procedures. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of provider selection when it comes to Liposuction. It looks like your provider did your procedure using only one incision from your chin. They missed a lot of areas that should’ve been treated and their results are clearly uneven and poorly done. Revision surgery is indicated. Understand that revision surgery is much more difficult and complex than Primary procedurs. This is especially true if somebody was not a good candidate for the procedure in the first place, for the first procedure was done aggressively. In your case, important areas were left on treated or under treated, and in that case, there should be room for improvement. Still, revision Liposuction is far more difficult, and complex than Primary, Liposuction, and the importance of finding the right provider cannot be overstated. To find the right plastic surgeon for any specific operation. I suggest patient start the process, but having multiple in person consultations for patients who have a proven track record of the procedure you were interested in. Being board-certified and plastic surgery with years of experience, and an overall good reputation does not mean somebody has mastered any one single procedure. This is especially true for Liposuction. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures of previous patients who had similar facial or body characteristics to your own. And experience plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. Being shown a handful of pre-selected images, representing the best results. Other providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of that provider, or how many of these procedures they’ve actually done. Being shown results of patients who look different than you does not give a good representation of what your results are likely to look like since each person has their own unique candidacy for the procedure. The outcome of plastic surgery operations generally come down to the patient’s candidacy and the skill of the provider. These are the two single most important variables, and patients should focus their efforts on understanding those two. There’s no correct number of consultations to have to find the best provider for Liposuction Work. Considering how much variation there is a Liposuction skill I recommend patient start the process by having at least five in person consultations before scheduling surgery. This may seem excessive, but doing this type of preparation and vetting providers, thoroughly dramatically reduce is the chance of ending up with poor outcomes. The process perfect to do Revision Work it’s more or less the same as finding providers to do primary Liposuction. The best surgeons at doing revision work are generally the same surgeons to do the best primary procedures. The biggest difference is going to be that surgeons will not have nearly as many before, and after pictures of Revision, Work, since revision work is less common. Well, I have emphasized most of my discussion on the provider selection. It is also important to get a clear understanding of your candidacy for the procedure in the first place. There are a lot of variables that contribute to this part of the face and subcutaneous fat is only one tissue layer. Other variables that contribute greatly are bone structure, potential skin laxity, how the platysma muscle drapes the neck Etc. etc. I don’t recommend letting your current provider do revision work since they have clearly indicated, they don’t have a sufficient skill and experience to do primary Liposuction. I suggest getting a complete set a before, and after pictures in a copy of your operative report and scheduling in person second opinion, consultations, and begin the process of finding the right provider to do a revision for you. Often when Liposuction is done poorly, there’s a little that can be done to improve the outcome, but in your case, I think the outcome can be salvaged and a significant improvement should be possible.
