Hi Tiffany,If we compare your right side (left side of the photo) to your left side (right side of the photo), your left side which is filler has less of a jowl appearance. Clothesline AnalogyIf we think of the jawline as a clothesline, if the clothesline has enough tension it will look straight. But if the clothesline is loose, it will sag in the middle (a jowl). On your fuller left side the jawline skin I stretched over more volume from the chin to the back of the jaw angle which places enough tension on the jawline skin to make it straight. On your smaller right side, your right jaw angle by the ear appears to be wide enough be does not extend down as much as the other side. This takes some tension off of the jawline skin causing it to sag very, very slightly between the chin and where the jawline meets the neck. If I only had 1 ml of Voluma ( or Restylane brand products), I would place it on that corner to try to give the jaw angle and subsequently the jawlines more symmetry. A one sided mini-facelift for doesn’t make sense for such a early jowl, so using filler makes sense. Placement of the filler to tighten the jawline will be important. It should be deeper and not close to the skin. After the injection you should not be able to feel the filler. If you feel the area, the skin just feels thicker like the other side, but the skin should not have any gummy sensation like a bubble of filler is stuck inside the skin itself. Best,Dr. YangP.S. Hi, I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. This is a common concern for patients approaching their mid-30s. When addressing early jowling by restoring lift in the cheeks, it may take 1–2cc per side for a more noticeable improvement. In some cases, combining cheek support with lower face or jawline contouring and using products like Juvederm Volux can enhance results and improve overall balance.
Thanks for your question. Unfortunately, I don't think 1 cc of Juvederm would be enough. There are other effective treatments available to lift the face and jowls including threading and Ultherapy. Be sure to schedule a consultation with a qualified injector.
As we age the skin sags there is nothign you can do about that but try preventative treatments or get a neck/facelift earlier in the aging process. There are numerous options and some can be used in combination to get best outcomes but you need a consultation with an expert. Fillers cannot lift the lower face but can help marionette lines and chin/jawline contouring.Options include for skin tightening :thermage radiofrequency to heat skin and tighten it over time and prevent the aging processultherapy highintensity ultrasound to contract muscle and tighten the face and neck and prevent the aging processPDO nova threads or instalift threads for immediate lifting without surgery and long term collagen productionsculptra injections for collagen production to areas of the face and neck with crepe skin or early saggingbtl exilis ultra, venus legacy, and thermi250 for constant collagen stimulation monthly with facialsfacelift/necklift with fat grafting/fillers if you need a big improvementThermiRF or J plasma or inmode facetite internal heating and tightening to long term internal heating and tighting with or without surgeryPlatysmaplasty to tighten the muscles of the neck long term and create contourFacial implants or fillers to contour the jawline and chin to improve the apperance of the necBest, Dr. Emer.
1cc of Voluma to the cheeks will give a subtle improvement to the cheek area, but will likely have no efffect on your jowls. And, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I usually start with 1 syringe of Voluma per cheek and then add more as necessary. Your lower face and jowls would need to be addressed directly, and there are a variety of treatments that can help. Make sure you see an experienced physician provider for an in-person consultation and evaluation to determine which combination of treatments would be best to address your concerns. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question! I would say you get a very mild lift from fillers in the lateral cheeks. It also widens the upper face making the lower face relatively more narrow and give the appearance of less jowls. Other options include Botox to the masseters if they are enlarged, filler along the jawline, and Kybella in the jowls. Also, Facetite can tighten the upper neck and lower face. One other technology is Infini/Genius to tighten lower face and reduce jowls. Best of luck!
I would not recommend that you treat with less than 1 cc of Voluma per cheek, and it should be kept superior and lateral on the cheekbone for the best lift. A small amount should be used to pull out the volume loss that is inferior to your pupils. This will very subtly alter the appearance of the jowls but you may want to consider a treatment with Kybella in the jowl fat pads (1 vial total), and some skin tightening (I use the Skintyte procedure from Sciton's laser platform).

Thank you for your question and photo. Radiesse is the filler I most commonly use for the jowls, although Voluma would work as well. An in-person consultation with an experienced injector can help to provide more detailed information.
Thank you for your photo. Voluma can be used to build up your cheek bones and help lift some of your skin/jowls of the lower face. It can take up to 6ccs to achieve a noticeable effect but it is always best to start with one and add as you go until you feel that you have the change you like. Another non-surgical option are thread lifts or skin tightening procedures such as Ultherapy or radiofrequency. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MDBoard-Certified Plastic Surgeon@drjohnsonlee
