For my petite patients who want to be a D or DD, we are usually discussing high profile or extra high profile implants. These styles allow for more volume with a narrower base width. You really don't want to choose an implant that is wider than your breast. The volume will vary based on your dimensions, but usually we are looking at 300 cc's and above. Good luck!
The best way to determine this is by trying different size implants in a bra and see how it looks on you. Whether or not this looks good depends on so many different factors. This includes how tall you are, how long is your torso, how wide are your shoulders, the shape of the rest of your body, and what you consider to be attractive. That being said, it seems most clothing is made for at least a full C cup for it to be the most flattering. Sometimes when you are a small person, you end up needing a bigger size if your bust is out of proportion, and then you may not get the look you want in the clothes you are wearing. Seek a board certified plastic surgeon and bring a trusted friend to help you see how the different sizes look on you. It's pretty amazing to see how just a small size change can really change your figure!Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon for an in-person consultation to discuss your options. Regards,
Thank you for your question. Selecting the correct implant is among the most important decisions in a successful breast augmentation procedure. There are several factors to consider and the placement of the identical implant will not produce the same results in all patients due to differences in:1. Dimensions of the breast 2. Diameter of the chest 3. Volume of the breast tissue 4. Height and weight 5. Breast shape, including ptosis and asymmetryI rely on 3 methods to advise my patients: 1. Dimensional planning 2. Gel implant sizing 3. 3-Dimensional Vectra imaging system. At the time of consultation, measurements are taken allowing for dimensional planning to select the implant which best fits the base diameter of the breast. Gel implant sizing is performed to allow you to visualize augmentation with the various sized implants. While some practices choose not to use imaging; Vectra 3-D imaging has been a very important method in my practice in selecting the correct implant size and shape as it allows you to see what you will look like following augmentation with any of the available implants. The best advice is to choose the surgeon that you feel most comfortable with who is also board certified. Best wishes, Andrew T. Lyos, MD, FACS
Cup sizes are not standard across bra makers, and implant sizing is NOT based on height, weight, BMI, or desired cup size. This is something you will need to do IN PERSON with an experienced surgeon to determine what works well for you, and to get advice about if what you like is possible and what to expect with regards to results. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. kuhtmkuhn2214. I appreciate your concern, because size does matter when seeking a natural looking result in breast augmentation. I ask my patients to bring in photos of breasts the size they desire, because there can otherwise be confusion because B or C cup can vary greatly by brassiere manufactures! I also utilize the implant in the bra technique, with several different implant sizes with a tighter fitting T-shirt to get an idea of what you will look like. Finally, I prefer to meet with my breast implant patients at least twice before surgery, so I am confident that I know exactly what her desires regarding shape and size are. I then have several sized implants in the patient's desired range available in the OR to allow me to tailor the operation to her needs. Be certain your surgeon understands your desires and you should do great as this operation carries a very high satisfaction rate. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. The size, profile, and shape of theimplant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wallmeasurements, and soft tissue quality. This decision shouldbe based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both youand your surgeon. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Dear kuhtmkuhDetermining the ideal breast size and matching that goal for the patient is the most difficult part of breast augmentation. It starts and ends with the patient. We have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements. Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If its too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match. Of all of my breast augmentation patients, everyone of them have been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. High profile are taller and narrower implants when compared to moderate profile implants of the same volume. The decision is usually based on the patient breast dimensions, amount of breast that the patient can contribute to the projection and I also factor the patients desires. I try my best to also respect the skin quality and elasticity in order to prevent future drooping due to unnecessarily heavy implants. over or under muscle doesn't dictate what size implant we can use. The muscle coverage is helpful in very thin patients and seems to reduce capsular contracture according to some scientific studies. Under the breast tissue is the most natural feel and has a less chance of animation deformity when the pectoralis muscle contracts. In most instances only the top implant is covered by muscle and the reset of the implant ends up under the breast tissue. Choose a board certified plastic surgeon who has done a ton of breast augmentation and has privileges to do this surgery at a local university hospital. If your hair extensions have any metals, they will need to be removed prior to surgery. Eyelashes should not be a problem, but I don't recommend getting them refilled until after surgery. You will need to stop all diet pills at least 2 weeks prior to surgery and at least 2 weeks after surgery....
The complete healing time after a breast augmentation can vary, but most individuals see significant improvement within the first few weeks. It may take several months for swelling to fully subside and for the implants to settle into their final position. As for blue veins, changes in blood flow...
