Would a mini facelift help define my jaw better? (Photo)

It appears from your photos that liposuction with small cannulas to carefully thin the tissues of your neck may be the most direct and successful way to improve your jaw/neck contour. I don’t believe Kybella would help and noninvasive, energy based systems which claim to reduce fat and tighten skin give modest results. Your skin should have good elasticity at 32 years old. A mini facelift is likely premature.

Hi! Without seeing your full face, it is hard to totally determine what is going on. There is a possibility you could benefit from jaw implants (chin and/or lateral jaw) to help tighten the skin envelope around the jawline but it's hard to assess from these photos. It does not appear as if you have a substantial amount of fat, so I would not go chasing after liposuction. However, you do seem to have some excess skin/laxity and also possibly a dehiscent platysma. This would be hard to know for sure without examining in person. Nonetheless, you could try skin tightening procedures but most likely you may need some kind of neck lift.

From the photos, it appears you could benefit from submental liposuction and a neck lift. That would accentuate your jaw more. If you wanted to do a mini facelift at the same time it would help with your nasal labial folds and tighten the facial skin. Without seeing the rest of your face I can’t tell you what other changes you would be beneficial for you. From your side photograph, it appears you would benefit from a chin implant to augment the mandible and give you a better profile. The cost is $4,000 and done under general anesthesia.

Hi, an obscured jawline can be the result of a few different factors, and each has their own specific treatments. A "mini facelift" alone is not likely to do much from what I can see in the photo. Fullness in the neck area below the jawline can make it seem to blend in with the neck. Neck liposuction below the jawline, combined with an energy based device like necktite can help with this area. The bone of the jawline itself can be smaller (more narrow), thus not creating much of a contrast between the lower face and neck. Jawline filler can help with this issue. When doing facelifts, I sometimes fold tissues over onto themselves to create a more prominent jawline, but I wouldn't do a facelift, even a mini, just to enhance a jawline. One word of caution, I have seen many patients that were told botox (or other toxins) for the masseters will enhance the jawline ... this is NOT TRUE.... it does the opposite. It slims down the jawline, and makes the issues worse. Hope that helps!

It doesn't look that face lift is needed. Depending of the location of the major fat compartment (superficial or deep, underneath the muscle), liposuction or neck lift should be considered. Small chin implant would further improve neck angle and jawline definition. Hope this helps.

A mini facelift does not address your neck. You need a neck lift procedure, which includes removal of the fat deposits located both above and below your platysma muscle, in addition to a platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline. At age 32, your skin tone is fine, and no skin removal is necessary. You also have a recessive chin profile, so give some consideration to placement of a small chin implant to augment your chin forward, which will also help improve your jawline and be complementary to the neck lift procedure.

99% of people seeking chin and neck, liposuction primary underlying diagnosis a small mandible. When the mandible does not have a strong forward, projection the underlying platysma muscle drapes to the neck, in a more oblique fashion.
Suspending the platysma muscle through a SMAS type facelift can help improve the neck profile.
You may want to consider talking to oral surgeons as well about getting a good understanding of the relationship between your mandible and your maxillary.
Soft tissue issues tend to follow bone structure and without looking at the primary problem soft tissue solutions, sometimes only give partial improvements.
