I’ve been looking to get liposuction done for a while now but I’m not sure if my job will interfere with the recovery process. The most days off I can get in a row is a week. Is it recommended to go through this surgery with my occupation?

Answer: Liposuction You may have more issues with swelling at high altitudes and need to wear compression all the time while working. It would be best to do your procedure as awake liposuction under local anesthesia than general to decrease the risk of blood clots. Ideally, you would not fly for a few weeks, but many have flown safely in just a few days. One good thing about your job is that you do walk while on the plane. This is very helpful. Please discuss any concerns you have with your surgeon.

So, it is impossible to answer this, but a rapid return to work is possible. Because I am located near 3 major airports, many of my patients are flight attendants, so you should expect to be more swollen for several months because of the altitude.
