Overlapping skin under Areola after Breast Augmentation. Any suggestions? (photos)

Had breast aug via peri areole incision April 8 (About 5 weeks ago) one side is completely healed the other doesn't look bad but the skin kinda looks like it's overlapping where its stitched at...is this normal will in reconnect and smooth out?? 5,6 132lbs 600ccs via areola incision high profile smooth silicone

An incision line takes many months to soften and mature. Message the scar and get some silicone sheets to place on them. Be patient many times the scar will settle down and be fine. If not a scar revision could be considered after waiting at least 6 months.

Looks like your scar is a bit contracted.  Although difficult to say by looking at only a photo, I think vigorous scar massage to soften the scar would beneficial.  Speak to your surgeon who has seen you in person to get the best recommendation

Hello Redbone85. Thanks for your post and photos. The incision itself looks swollen and this can be a normal issue after surgery. Most likely, it will improve over time. Perhaps you should talk to your PS about additional therapy to perform and speed the process. Best, Dr. ALDO.

Hi there and thank you for your question,Scar healing takes time, up to 12 months. I would recommend scar massage and the use of topical silicone gel sheet to help soften your scar and aid in its maturation. A scar revision can always be performed after 6-12 months if it is still unsatisfactory.I hope this helps, all the best,James

Hello Redbone85,Thank you for your questions and photos. In your posts it does appear as though you may have residual healing to the incision. This is common and healing may take up to 12 weeks post surgery. I would consult with your plastic surgeon in regards to scar therapy. You want to keep a close eye on the incision and make sure you do not have any issues with keloid or hypertrophic scarring. I hope this is helpful, good luck!Dr. Kouros Azar
