In some patients, I believe that adding volume to the cheeks can produce some lifting of the jowls. The amount of lift is nothing comparable to surgical results though. Photographs or an examination of you would be needed to determine if filler in your cheeks might be of benefit to your jowls.
A combination approach will give the most improvement. I recommend fillers for the folds themselves but also lifting around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, rf treatments, J Plasma and peels to get the most conservative natural look. Please see a facial sculpting expert. Thank you for your question. Every patient is different, and the prominence of skin and soft tissue can be caused by a few different things all related to aging. If you have lost a lot of volume in the upper medial cheek, that can create a contour difference that makes your lower medial cheek seem more prominent. By restoring the volume of that upper medial cheek (with filler, collagen stimulant, or fat) that can help improve the overall facial contour and the appearance of the jowl. If there is laxity that is causing the jowl to sag, then a facelift may be a better option. I recommend getting evaluated by your plastic surgeon to see what option best fits you.
The answer realistically is no. It would take an enormous volume of filler, which is a soft gel material, to ever lift tissues inferior to it. I would not even say cheek implants can lift sagging jowls.
No, fillers offered temporary augmentation where they are placed, such as in the cheek area. Cheek implants offer a permanent augmentation to the mid face and cheek area. A facelift is required to lift the jowls.
Well placed cheek filler can help to lift the jowls. If you look in the mirror and pull your cheek up at the corner under your eye, you will see an improvement in your jowl. While filler cannot correct to this degree, artfully placing a robust filler deep in the proper areas along the cheek bone can improve the heaviness of the jowl. I also usually put some less dense and more pliable filler in the pre-jowl sulcus, which is the area in front of the jowl, to make the contour of the jawline smoother. Of course this depends on the person and the severity of the jowls as well as the heaviness of the skin. It can be more difficult to do if the skin is very heavy or the jowls are very severe. It also will not give a surgical result (a face-lift). But it is common practice and I perform this treatment for this indication every day in the office. I once published a study I performed showing that injecting filler into the cheeks improves a person's self-image. Taub AF. Cheek augmentation improves feelings of facial attractiveness. I would say that part of helping jowls is filler in the cheeks, preauricular, and jawline. It will lift to a mild extent but not miracles. Jowls are tough and often needed skin tightening with Infini/Genius as well. FaceTite gives the most tightening along the jawline for jowls.
Absolutely not despite the commercial allegations of many providers. Filling the cheeks can make the face look better and hence distract form the jowls and nasolabial folds. But........cheek filler do not physically lift the fold. There is an article I wrote on the subject on my website (cheek fillers and the nasolabial fold). I did three d images before and after injection and looked at the folds..........nothing moves except the skin moves outward like a balloon.
I recommend fillers to soften the nasolabial folds themselves and also lift around the mouth and cheeks to build underlying anatomical support. In our practice we combine Sculptra with other fillers "layered" on top and lasers, skin tightening treatments such as Thermage, Fractora, and Renuvion...
Typically patient's need 1 syringe of Voluma per side to make a noticeable difference, though you may be happy with 1 syringe total as you are looking for a subtle difference. I would recommend an in person consultation to better assess your facial structure to see if 1 syringe would make enough...
Thank you for your question and photograph. Each person’s anatomy has variables but the cheek acts like a foundation for the lower eyelid complex. For the majority properly placed cheek filler should improve the tear Trough and not make it more obvious. As everyone is different there is the ...
