I recently saw Dr. Taub for an injectable filler treatment and I had a great experience with her! She was professional, kind, and gentle. She answered all of my questions and I am so excited to see my results! Thank you, Dr. Taub!
This was my first time trying fillers and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! Dr. Taub and her team went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable during my procedure. I would recommend Advanced Dermatology to anyone who is in need of a little refresher!
I have been fortunate enough to have been treated with multiple body contouring devices. My experience with truSculpt iD has been exceptional! The treatment time was surprisingly fast and while I was told I might experience a bit of discomfort during the treatment, I felt it was minimal (a bit warm at times, but never unbearable). I also did not experience any discomfort in the days following the treatment, which I had felt (tenderness in treated areas) after other treatments. I have seen many dramatic results (online and from friends) over the years from other devices, but never felt my results were noticeable. This was not the case with truSculpt iD! I felt that my results with this treatment were extraordinary, just from the one treatment I had received! I will 100% have truSculpt iD again!
I never felt more comfortable. I would definitely come back! I love that they offer studies. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to come and be apart of this study. I absolutely love Elana and Dr. James so much! <3 Updated on 3 Aug 2018: I always enjoy coming to Advanced Dermatology. Very Professional practice. They always make me feel at ease and comfortable. There is a noticeable difference in my waist size since I had Trusculpt iD done. I had to go buy new shorts and jeans! I lost at least an inch to an inch and a half. I would most likely have another treatment if needed in the future.
Before I saw Dr. Taub, I had sun damage on my cheeks and rosacea. My nose was red and I broke out in pimples regularly. She put me on skin care as well as did laser treatments on my face that cleared me up. My friends used to tell me all the time how beautiful my skin was, but now they are used to it! I don’t break out hardly ever anymore, between skin care and regular acne silk peels I get in her office. I use all the products in her skinfo boutique and love them! My skin used to be my weakness but now it is a definite strength. I used to be on oral antibiotics for my skin, but not anymore! I have longed for beautiful skin my whole life and now I have it!
I have been using Skinfo Products for years. Usually I have them delivered but now that there's a location in Glencoe, I can walk over! My daughter-in-law also orders from Skinfo via me as she lives in London, England, and cannot order overseas on-line. The London daughter-in-law arranged for my grandson when in the USA to visit Dr. Taub. He needed laser removal of a small mole and advice about acne preps. I still obtain these products for him as they've been so helpful.
I have been dealing with melasma for many years. I have spent a ton of money on creams and lotions to lighten my skin only to get minimal results at best. I read about fraxel in New Beauty magazine and decided to give it a try. I couldn't be happier. The procedure itself was a little uncomfortable but the numbing medicine made it very tolerable. My skin has never looked better. My skin is even , bright and most important the melasma is gone. I know there is nothing that permanently gets rid of melasma which is why wear spf every day in my moisturizer and am very careful about sun exposure. Fraxel was the best decision I made for my skin and would do it again down the road if I had to.
Yesterday was my first ematrix procedure in hopes to minimize shallow acne scarring on my checks and chin. I decided to go with doing this despite reading some bad reviews of the ematrix on this site because I can't stand looking at my scars anymore and am willing to take the risk for the possibility of good results. If I never take the chance, I'll never have it! When I arrived to the dermatologist's office yesterday, the first thing they did was take my photos. Then, they had me sit with numbing cream on my face for an hour (which I wish they would have warned me about so that I could bring a book, etc.). After that, I went in the treatment room, they took the numbing cream off my face and had me sign some papers. The physician's assistant then came in who performed the procedure, and she was actually very friendly. I was happy that we discussed my desired results, the areas I was most concerned about, etc. The procedure itself was not that painful. However, in certain areas, like under the eyes, it was more painful. It felt like needles being poked into your skin. Immediately after the treatment, my face was red, and I could feel a burning sensation in my face, which continued throughout the night. I would say the burning reached it's high point in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. My face felt like it was on fire, and it was very difficult to sleep. However, by the morning, the pain is again tolerable. However, my face is extremely red, slightly swollen and has the imprint of the ematrix tip. Also, my scarring appears almost nonexistent right now...however, I know this is due to the swelling. I will continue to update for the next six months...until I am supposed to see the full result!Updated on 15 May 2013: This is the second day after the ematrix procedure. Almost all of the swelling has gone done. Every 12 hours I can notice that I am less red. Tonight little scabs starting forming all over my face, as they are supposed to, and will eventually "fall off" from what I understand from the provider. I am excited to see my skin once it heels....Updated on 17 May 2013: The third day after the ematrix procedure, I saw a huge improvement in redness. The small scabs have began falling off (looks like dry skin) . I didn't feel embarrassed to put on some powder foundation and go to work. I feel like I see some improvement in some scars, but it is probably too early to judge still.Updated on 20 May 2013: I has been exactly a week since y first ematrix procedure. I think I already see improvements in my scars in the sense that they seem less deep. However, I do not know if this is true or inflammation still or my eyes ( or hopes) playing tricks on me. I am not sure when most people begin to see results. I know it can take up to 6 months.Updated on 12 Jun 2013: I had my second round of ematrix two days ago. This time the procedure bothered me less during it and after. I did not swell up as much or get as red, and I seem to be healing faster. The scabs formed the next morning instead of two mornings after. I think I saw slight improvement around three weeks after the first round, but it is hard to tell. I will continue updating to let you all know what the progress is (if any).Updated on 22 Jun 2013: It has been nearly two weeks after my second ematrix procedure. This time, I had less swelling and redness, and instead of the scabs only being there for one day before flaking off, this tie, it took over a week for them all to be gone. I thought that difference was kind of interesting. Anyway, I think I do see an extremely slight improvement with the overall texture of my face. The scars I fixated on before are definitely still there, but perhaps less deep, and perhaps the shallowest scars that I never saw before have evened out because I really can't explain why I am seeing this overall increase in smoothness.Updated on 2 Jul 2013: I am consistently noticing an overall increase in the smoothness of the texture of my face. It's strange because some days it seems better than others, and I'm not really sure why; however, I can at least always say that there is an improvement. I think that some of the very small holes are either gone or have increased in height to the point that they are unnoticeable (unless you were really trying to look for them), and the larger rolling scars are less deep. I wanted to confirm that what I was seeing in my last review seems to be consistent and true. I'm assuming these results are permanent. Therefore, I am going to change my rating from "Not Sure" to "Worth It." I have one more procedure left to go, and I am very excited.Updated on 6 Jul 2013: One thing that I think is strange that I have been observing is that some days my scars look like they have a lot of improvement and other days, I don't think I see any improvement. Does anyone know why this is? It sees to sometimes depend on if my skin is dry or well-moisturized, but I just can't see that being the entire explanation for the huge gap in difference that I am seeing here. It is really confusing me and my opinions toward this procedure.Updated on 9 Jul 2013: For those of you who also have rosacea, mine is definitely more pronounced after the second Ematrix procedure. Maybe it will calm down with time, or I might need to have something else done now after this. Haha.Updated on 12 Jul 2013: I know that some people get Ematrix for reasons other than acne scars, such as wrinkles, tightening, etc. I wanted to comment that I have seen no other changes in my skin besides texture.Updated on 26 Jul 2013: I got my 3rd Ematrix procedure on Monday of this week (3 days ago) 6 weeks after the second procedure. This time the scabs formed within an hour of treatment. I was slightly less red and swollen. The scabs are staying on for longer. It's interesting to me that the healing process changes with each treatment; I wonder if it has to do with the change in the skin from previous treatments. Anyway, I have completed the 3 rounds that the doctor recommended. In six months, I go in to take pictures, which is when my provider believes I will be ready to evaluate my results. I will continue to update any changes that I see in my skin.Updated on 6 Aug 2013: It has been about two weeks since my third procedure. I believe that I am all healed-up now and done with the swelling. Since the last two weeks after my second treatment and now these two weeks after my third, I have noticed much more consistency in the improvement of my scars. I would say they always now look less shallow (however, it is possible that still some days are better than others). At this point, my scars are improved, however, it is so so so slight. I hope they really do keep improving!Updated on 19 Mar 2014: I unforunately still have not been able to make it to the sixth-month follow-up to take pictures and therefore will only be discussing changes I can determine without a before and after photo in the same environment. However, I have an appointment for next week, so I will be able to update then with any new information that I observe. Over these past 11 months since the first procedure, I do see very mild results and definitely no unwanted side effects (which I was concerned about). Some scars seem to have been made less shallow and previous relatively narrower and shallower ones seem less wide, but others appear no different, and this seems to depend where on my face they are located. Scars closer to my chin seem to have been more affected than those on my upper and mid checks, of those which I see little to no difference. I will update what I see at my follow-up!

I wanted beautiful skin. I'm in the broadcast field and they understood that level of perfection I wanted
During the period following this vaccine, there is a stimulation of the immune system. This could cause an overreaction to the peel or any procedure for that matter. Also, most of the side effects of the vaccine occur in the first 2 weeks. The process of completing most of the immune stimulation occurs in 2 weeks. I would wait until after that as any procedure requires healing, which is intricately involved with immune function.
This is tough to answer without physical exam, but if you say the pouch is small, then a large applicator wouldn't usually be needed. It is very very uncommon to see a demarcation from 2 applicators on the abdomen, if they are overlapped correctly. I usually prefer the 2 applicators to 1 large, unless there is a large area to debulk. You really need full power for results with Coolsculpting.
First of all, you do not have "So much fat and muscle and tissue on my chin", I think your chin is very attractive with the middle dimple. I would have to examine you, but using neuromodulator in the masseters (translation Botox in the chewing muscles) can help narrow the face. A bit of filler in the upper cheek along the cheek bone will help to lift the jawline and create a sleeker look. And a bit of filler in the chin would help, only because on the side profile, the chin doesn't project quite as much as the ideal. However, you are also too hard on yourself, so be careful not to go down the rabbit hole (ie overly concerned with every detail on your face) as it will inhibit your confidence! You have gorgeous lips!
I agree that both would give you a nice result, but sympathize with your budgetary concerns. This is a common issue for dermatologists; the combo procedure would be best but not practical. The Sculptra will create volume in the cheeks, reducing the "gauntness" that you complain of. If done artfully, the shape of your face should be improved to a more "upside down egg" or oval shape, which is more youthful. Also, it should lift to a degree and give you a less jowly look. However, ultherapy's best results are on the jawline, where it tends to give a better definition and sharper angle. It is good for your skin type and should give you a nice result. However, it doesn't usually give you volume. And there are 10% of patients who don't seem to get a result.I would consider a third option, a combo of Hyaluronic acid fillers and Sculptra. I personally would give you Voluma in your upper cheeks and jawline for definition and lift and some Sculptra to give you some mid cheek volume to make you look less gaunt. As much as I love Ultherapy, I think fillers are more of a sure thing.
Well placed cheek filler can help to lift the jowls. If you look in the mirror and pull your cheek up at the corner under your eye, you will see an improvement in your jowl. While filler cannot correct to this degree, artfully placing a robust filler deep in the proper areas along the cheek bone can improve the heaviness of the jowl. I also usually put some less dense and more pliable filler in the pre-jowl sulcus, which is the area in front of the jowl, to make the contour of the jawline smoother. Of course this depends on the person and the severity of the jowls as well as the heaviness of the skin. It can be more difficult to do if the skin is very heavy or the jowls are very severe. It also will not give a surgical result (a face-lift). But it is common practice and I perform this treatment for this indication every day in the office. I once published a study I performed showing that injecting filler into the cheeks improves a person's self-image. Taub AF. Cheek augmentation improves feelings of facial attractiveness.
