I am heavily considering breast augmentation but one of my reservations is how un-natural it can look when there is a big gap between the breast. This is most likely my own personal preference but I just feel they look more natural post opp when there is not such a big gap in between them. My question is there a sure way that this can be avoided? For example, is this a common thing when women with very small breast go large?

Answer: Cleavage with breast augmentation The best way to consider this is to realize that the surgeon has minimal control over your natural cleavage width. The cleavage is determined by many anatomical factors which cannot be manipulated surgically. You should discuss this with a board-certified plastic surgeon to understand what are realistic expectations.

Answer: Gap and breast implants Thank you for your question. Your cleavage and gap between two breasts is determined by your anatomy and to some extent choice of implants and your surgeon's implant pocket dissection. It has to be balanced carefully since too aggressive of dissection or release of muscles more towards the middle of your chest in attempt to close the gap will look unnatural due to your nipples migrating outwards. A skilled surgeon is often able to give you a narrow gap unless you have far wide attachment/insertion of your muscles and rib cage anatomy. I highly recommend a thorough consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and concerns.
