To answer your question, absolutely.  You can certainly have just the alar base procedure performed, and it can be done under local anesthesia.  It is very well tolerated, with only minimal swelling and bruising.  Stitches come out fairly quickly.  Best of luck!

photograph, you may also benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can
accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your
lower nose.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after
pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon
and not just a computer animation system. The most important
aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek
consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate

Yes, it is possible to only perform an alar-plasty which narrows the base of the nostrils. This can be performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure which takes approximately 30 minutes.

Great question.  Yes, an alarplasty can be performed by itself without the need to do a full rhinoplasty.  This procedure is fairly straight forward and can even be done under local anesthesia if you desire.  Doing so essentially allows you to drive in and then drive out.  It can be done at the end of the day Friday for example and you can be back to work Monday.  Sutures are often left in place for 4 days so if you want to not have your co-workers see that then surgery Thursday, taking off Friday, and sutures out Monday morning can be performed.All the best,Dr. Remus Repta

Yes. An alarplasty is a simple procedure that can easily be performed under local anesthesia. It does require incisions in the skin, but they normally heal well.
