I had rhinoplasty. The Dr. offered to do a free alarplasty later, after I'd healed. Separately, I had a lip lift with another doc. Both surgeries went well; I now want to have my nose surgeon do the alarplasty as planned. However, he seems intimidated by the fact that I've had a lip lift (it's been healed for a year) ~ he made vague comments about not making typical alarplasty incisions because of the LL. Based on my pic, can a typical alarplasty be done, and where should incisions be? Thanks!!

While alar base reduction is usually performed along with other rhinoplasty maneuvers for the right individual the answer is yes, it can be done alone.
Dear Tom,
youvwill definatly benifit with alar plasty
i will suggest to go with tip plasty also as narrowed alae without narrowing tip will not give so good result.
one can do tip reduction by open method or close method it depends on surgeons comfort level
best of luck

A few millimeters is all that is possible, 2-3, on each side. Any more and you can distort the alar rim and cause asymmetries that are then impossible to correct.
