How much does a nostril reduction/ alar base reduction cost?

My nose has huge nostrils and I want to know if the surgery is really expensive, I wouldn't need work done on any other part if my nose just my nostrils/alar base.

The cost of an alar base reduction is less than a full rhinoplasty, and can be performed under local anesthesia. A full rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. A full set of facial photographs are required to make a determination about being a candidate for a partial rhinoplasty. Alar base reduction can be performed without rhinoplasty.  Costs vary by surgeon, location, facility fees, and anesthesia fees, if required.  I recommend you see two or three rhinoplasty specialists in your area, and choose the one that fits you best.  Good luck!

Hi there, if you want to reduce the size of your nostrils, alar base reduction by itself can be a good option. Alar base reduction can be done in the office under local anesthesia. The cost typically varies from $2,000 to $3,000. Rarely is alar base reduction done by itself, but in certain cases you can avoid a lot more surgery and get a good result. Make sure to discuss with your surgeon how reducing the nostrils can affect the nasal tip. Sometimes the nasal tip can change in a way you might not like after the reduction. Thank you for your question.The procedure you are describing is called an Alarplasty. An alarplasty is the technique that is commonly used for nostril reduction. This procedure consists of making an incision on the inside or outside of the nostrils then removing a specific amount of tissue to reduce the size and/or make more symmetrical. I recommend that you schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty to have a nasal examination performed and a review of your medical history to see if you are a good candidate for an alarplasty.
