Thanks for the question and excellent photography, Im glad you brought this up as we see it from time to time. For some reason the cylinders in the body aka the arms and thighs tend do develop ridges and waves during healing. It is normal and tend to settle in time, they settle faster with massage/compression/ and external radio frequency treatments. I understand that healing is more than a physical process but also psychological so hang in there!
It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
bcbmom. I appreciate your concern, but it is still quite early in your recovery journey and your body needs time to heal allowing swelling to resolve and skin to smooth out and contract. It can take as long as 4 to 6 months before realizing your final result. Try to stay patient and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. Healing after plastic surgery is a process and the earlier parts are the most challenging. Emotions are a big part of the process as well. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2-3 weeks after surgery. The later phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient. It's best to follow your surgeons specific advice post-operatively.
Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation and loose skin is very normal.I suggest my patients to try the lymphatic massages and to use a full body compression garment, 24/7 for the first 3 months, and after that, for 12 hours a day for 3 more months, to get the best results. If you have any concerns, please follow up close with your plastic surgeon.Good luck :)
Dear bcbmom,You are still in the infancy of healing from your liposuction procedure. The area will certainly change over the next 4-8 months. You should have a good idea what the permanent appearance will be in about another 1-2 months.Best of luck with your continued healing.Dr T
Following liposuction, the healing time varies from patient to patient. In general, following liposuction the skin continues to retract and can change appearance for three months following the procedure. Most of the skin retraction happens in the first 6 weeks, but I have seen improvements in my patients for three months with appropriate post-operative care. Thank you for your question
you will continue to improve for 6 full months after Smartlipo. you are still very early on. It is also important to aim for improvement and not perfection. I think this will continue to get better with time. there is not much you can do to smooth this out, except for time and possibly some gentle massagedavid berman md
Healing takes a long time. Your thighs will change over the healing period. Give the area time to heal. See your plastic surgeon for a visit in the near future. You are doing fine. My Best, Dr Commons
Thank you for asking about your liposuction.Acute onset of rectal bleeding and discharge after liposuction is not normal. Your surgeon should see you and examine you. If s/he cannot find a reason and the problem continues, your regular doctor should refer you to a colo-rectal surgeon for...
You do not say your age which may play in to this some. Liposuction is an elective procedure and the post-op results are best if you are in good health. I think it would be best to devote your time and effort into optimizing your pancreatitis with more medical consultation and then revisit the...
