Looking to get the fat transfer to the breast procedure, with the Airsculpt method. I’m just curious if the heating process will end up killing the fat cells or render them unusable. Thank you!
Answer: Breast fat transfer Dear tashaharg, fat transfer breast augmentation is a viable alternative for women who desire larger breasts without the use of implants. Fat transfer is also widely used in reconstruction of the breast after a mastectomy or lumpectomy. It can also be very effective in correcting the size and shape of the breasts due to genetic problems such as tuberous breast or Poland Syndrome, two conditions that look like misshapen or underdeveloped breasts. In addition, the following scenarios are also reason to consider breast fat grafting:• If you have chest areas that appear creased and sunken• If you desire more permanent correction than is provided by temporary fillers• If you wish to improve your body contour, revise scars, fill bodily depressions and rejuvenate the natural curve of your breasts• To fill in contour irregularities or hide obvious signs of breast implantsYou should discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon and make sure your surgeon understands your concerns and your breast augmentation goals. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Fat transfer Regardless of the method used fat transfer is a hit or miss procedure. I advise against any fat transfer to the breast. It doesn’t work nearly as well as you may believe.

Answer: Fat Transfer The principles of fat transfer or all the same. I cannot comment on the airsculpt method as I am not familiar with it but in general all fat transfer involves making tiny incisions to pass a liposuction cannula, suck out fat, process it to "purify it", and then inject it into another area to improve volume and shape. Adjunct technologies with liposuction either help "melt" the fat to make it easy to extract, or heat the collagen to offer additional contraction following fat removal. The type of fat processing, the vascularity of the recipient area, the amount of trauma to the fat during extraction and after implantation, whether you smoke or not, and your overall health are all factors that effect fat survival rates.

Answer: Fat transfer to breast The Airsculpt uses laser ( as far as I remember) which does create heat. I prefer using the standard liposuction techniques with small to medium cannulas to remove the fat with the least amount of trauma. Be aware that fat transfer to the breasts usually increases the size only 1/2 cup size (maximum of one cup size in rare cases). Dr. Taranow

Answer: Fat transfer with energy based devices When energy best devices are used for harvesting fed her fat transfer such as laser assistant Liposuction the laser treatment after harvesting the fat. Generally the laser treatment doesn’t do much regardless and plastic surgeons are not going to purposely do a procedure to compromise your fat transfer. I recommend having in person consultations to get an accurate assessment and better understanding of the treatment process. You should also carefully vet providers to make sure they have sufficient skill when it comes to liposuction and fat transfer. Delivering consistent quality liposuction and fat transferred results is more difficult than most people believe. The number of providers who can do these procedures well on a consistent basis including the ability to make an accurate assessment and show corresponding honest before and after pictures is a relatively small. Going to experts who do the procedure on a regular basis is in your favor. They will not purposely compromise the fat that’s going to be grafted. I have faith that plastic surgeons are not that stupid though sometimes I too wonder when I see some of the results that are posted on this forum. I recommend having in person consultations before considering any permanent and irreversible procedure. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
