So I get my breast augmentation in a few weeks I get surgery on a monday and on the saturday after i have a work christmas party i was wondering if i can you either a bralette or go braless for a few hours just for that night?
Answer: Can I Go Bra-less for a Few Hours a Week after Breast Augmentation Surgery In my practice, wearing a bra post-op is completely optional. My patients do not have special bras placed or recommended after surgery. A rapid recovery with return to normal activities in four days is usual, including driving. Post op, patients are asked to raise their hands overhead five times an hour. This helps speed recovery and decreases muscle stiffness. The majority of patients are lifting their hands overhead to wash their hair in 24 hours, and lifting normal weight objects and driving in four days. Surgery is done with cautery dissection, so there is no bleeding; bruising is minimal if any.

Answer: Braless in the first week after breast augmentation? There should be no reason why you could not go braless or wear a bralette at five days after your breast augmentation. I have patients wear a loose fitting bra initially to hold their dressings in place but the bra is not needed. Overdoing it, with regard to physical activity in the first two weeks, is more of a concern. Discuss with your surgeon and good luck.

Answer: It depends... If you had a completely routine augmentation, it's probably fine.If you had a lift, or internal plication sutures, or something else at the same time as your augmentation, your surgeon may have other ideas.Best to call your surgeon's office directly, and ask.

Answer: Can I go braless for a few hours, five days after my breast augmentation? Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure; given that you have chosen your plastic surgeon, it is best to follow his/her "protocol" given that your plastic surgery knows what works best when it comes to achieving patient pleasing outcomes in his/her practice. Generally speaking, there is no “standard” when it comes to the use of specific bras or garments after breast surgery. In other words, different plastic surgeons may have different practices when it comes to postoperative dressings/bras. In my practice, patients wake up with a surgical bra in place. This surgical bra, although not attractive, is supportive and used for about one month after surgery (some of my patients have been known to burn the bra ASAP). Then, patients transition to a soft sports bra. Wired bras are used when breast have reached their “final position” and patients have full sensation along the breast skin. Generally, the longer I have been in practice, the more I appreciate the long term use of supportive bras after all types of breast surgery. This additional support may be especially helpful when patients are lying down and/or engaged in strenuous exercise. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Going braless after augmentation This question is best answered by your surgeon as he/she knows what is planned for your surgery. The use of support garments after surgery varies by surgeon as well as by patient based on the extent of surgery performed. Your surgeon will advise what is best for you.
