very little is needed around the mouth to lift the corners IF you are a good candidate, 2.5-5 units per side of dysport would suffice. I would suggest at home dermarolling to get skin tightening of this area. Best, Dr. Emer.
Typically, only 2-3 Botox equivalent units (6-9 units Dysport) are required to lift the corners of the mouth. While this will seem relatively simple, it can result in asymmetric smile if the wrong muscles are injected, so please make sure you visit an experienced injector.
Hello and thank you for your question. The problem with a downturned mouth is typically twofold. While muscle movement can pull the corners of the mouth down, so can lost facial volume. I often recommend targeting the area with a combination of neuromodulators, like Botox, and dermal fillers to correct both causes. Visit a board-certified facial plastic surgeon to receive a personalized treatment plan that helps you achieve your aesthetic goals.
Dysport can be injected into the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscles to elevate the oral commissures. Usually between 6-15 units are injected into each muscle. For more resistant cases, often filler is used in combination to achieve the desired result.
Only a small amount of Dysport is needed to lift a downturned mouth. Approximately 5 units per side is needed, but it will vary based on patient exam. See an expert injector for your treatment.
It is very difficult to achieve that kind of result with a neurotoxin. You could attempt about 30 units of Dysport in the orbicularis oris muscle. You may see a bit of a result.
Hi There,Dysport can be helpful to lift the corners of the mouth. However, results truly vary by patient. I have had patients with good results, but others with little to no results. If done incorrectly, or at too high of a dose, it can lead to difficulty keeping food/drink in your mouth.Starting conservatively with an experienced injector would be my recommendation. Typically, 6-10 units placed in specific spots around the mouth would be a good start. A total of 20-30units may be necessary for both sides, but it depends on your anatomy and your response to the dysport.Hope that helps!
To treat a downturned mouth I usually use a 2 step process because it is caused by muscle activity and loss of lower face volume. For Dysport, I will use a range of 12-18 units to each side and also filler to restore volume. This can be done in the same sitting.
Only a small amount of dysport is typically needed to lift the corners of the mouth (I usually start with 2.5-3 units per side). This should be injected into a specific location within the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscle. I recommend going to an experienced board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon for this injection because misplacement of dysport in this area can cause the mouth to become temporarily lopsided. It is a great treatment when done properly. Good luck!
Dysport or any other neurotoxin is a good treatment to lift the corner of the mouth. The usual dose range, depending on age, gender and muscle strength, is between 3-6 units/side.
