Can Dysport make a difference in sliming the lower shape of my face? (photos)

im really trying to avoid buccal fat pad removal even tho it would change my life because when i dont close my jaw my face is much slimmer however when i close it my face looks super full, with time of injecting dysport into my masseter muscle can i see my face changing or it wont really make a difference and i should go with buccal fat pad removal? in both pics by the way i have not had anything done to my full face

It looks like you're a good candidate for lower facial reshaping. The injection would occur into the Masseter muscles and the relaxation should lead to some volume depletion in the muscle with the creation of a smooth and more ideal facial ogive.

Hi and thank you for your question! Your doctor should be able to tell if you are likely to see benefits from Dysport injection upon examining your face. If during the exam, it is noted that you have bulky masseter muscles that are contributing to a fuller/heavier lower face, then injecting Dysport (or Botox, Xeomin or Jeuveau) into the muscles will reduce their size and slim down your jaw. If however it is determined that the bulk is mostly due to fat pads, then Dysport injection is unlikely to help. I hope it helps and good luck!

Hi and thank you for your question and photos. I believe you would be a great candidate for neuromodulators, such as Dysport or Botox, to the masseter muscles. This will slim your lower face by atrophying the muscle. It takes up to 2 weeks to see full results after treatment. Dysport is a neuromodulator that targets the masseter muscle along the jawline. By reducing the muscle’s activity the Dysport also reduces the muscle’s size, which in turn produces narrowing of the jawline. Patients often see additional slimming with subsequent treatments over time. This procedure does not involve surgery like buccal fat removal and the results are only temporary. Some younger patients that undergo buccal fat pad removal find this treatment affects the way their faces age over time. Buccal fat removal slims the midface, where the pockets of cheek fat are located. Dysport injections into the masseter muscle focus on slimming the jawline. You can combine Dysport injections with dermal filler injections into the cheekbone to produce more of a heart shape to the face without undergoing surgery to remove the fat pads.
